LAWL LA Chef

If there anyway to access the LA Chef on the internet besides paying over $200.00?

Thanks

Actually, it should only be $99.00 per year, but that's the only way. Sorry. The LA site does go on sale during open houses and specials. I got mine when my COD did an open house and it was 30% off.

How do you know when they have open houses? Are they posted?
Also do you know how to convert a menu? How they figure out the proteins, starches, etc. Your recipes look good and I have copied a few to make.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Check out the la weight loss website http://www.laweightloss.com/ and
subscribe to their e newsletter and you should get emails from your local center. I do.

I paid $99 last year for the site and when I went to log in yesterday, it was "on sale" for $219...but they send you all kinds of stuff that I don't really want. I'd rather pay the $99 for the site only.

Different CODs hold their open houses at differnt times, but I think they do them every six months or so. Just ask your COD when they are doing it (and even call any others in your area as they aren't all on the same day).

As for the recipes, I just submit them to the LA Chef for a remake. It takes them about a week.

For converting, what I try to do is take the whole recipe and write down the exchanges for it, along with any subsitutions (reduced fat cheese, butter, etc.). So if I am making a chicken dish, I might see that the whole recipe for 4 is 4P, 2S, 3Fa, 4C. I divide it and round up if I need to, or use less of that ingredient if I can to make it even. So the 3 fats in a recipe divided by four I would still count as one fat, or modify it so it comes out to 1/2.

You'll definitely get the hang of it as you go on. Jump in and ask us anything you have questions on. And come join us in the Losers and Friends thread.

Cassi- I think what she was talking about was just doing the LA online without a center. You can just do that for about $219 or so start up fee and then it's about $15 a month.

Do you have any centers near you? If you do, you can join a center. If they have access to the website, then you can purchase to have access to it for a year at a time. It probably would work out about the same unless you have a lot of weight to lose, then the $$$ would be in your favor.
