Good evening Chickies and Rooster(s) - btw, where are Jason and Michael???
Went to COD this a.m. Down 1.2 (yeah) and they finally measured me again. I've lost 15.25 inches so far so it makes the stalling more bearable.
Watched AI last night and thought it was incredibly cruel what they did to Jordan. While the girl is very composed and professional she is only 17! I don't know why they felt the need to do it.
Loved Josh and cried through most of the rest. Makes me want to go work for Unicef or do something of value for the world...
Kristen - glad you are enjoying stabilization
Katie - Glad you saw the doctor and got some good advise. You definitely don't want full blown diabetes.
Kim - Hope the hip starts to feel better soon. I get those crazy-out-of-nowhere aches too.
Nicole - OOOH! You've got a hypochondriac MIL too??? Mine makes whiny, pained noises. She is a real piece of work. Maybe we could hook them up and they could listen to each other complain.
Shannon - I'm with Angie. I can't quite put Miracle whip, cabbage and pineapple together. As my friend Cathy says to me, "Oh, you don't mix your sweet and savory." Darn right! Fruit doesn't belong on meat or in salads in my world. I think I'm a freak...
Kim2 - Congrats on the WL. You are doing soooo awesome. Can't wait to see the TT pics.
Wendy - Love the pics of the communion! Adorable.
Know I am missing a slew of folks. Gotta dash so I can watch The Office and Grey's Anatomy. George is making me mad!

Hello everyone. I am still here. It has just been a long week and very busy at work. I think everyone in BC is moving this month and they are all calling this week to get their gas accounts closed or transferred. I have also been working in my new position whenever I can get a break from the calls. It usually slows down a bit later in the day.
I saw the furkid tonight after work and I am waiting on the ex to let me know if sunday is good for him for me to see her again. Hopefully it is so I can get my weekend planned out. I am working a few hours OT on saturday but other than that it is fairly wide open.
Really there isn't a lot new here. Just work and home and dog. not much else these days. I really need to get a life...anyone got one for sale dirt cheap LOl!!!
Wendy - I have sent a facebook request so hopefully you know it is me!!! It will come up Alannah MacDonald in your email. Lots of pictures of my dogs on there too. I have to get some of my horse to add as well, I just haven't done that yet.
Well, hope everyone has a great night. I must go read the paper and get ready for bed - it is almost 11 here.

Nicole -- I think it varies...in my office it's always trips for two for the sales people, but my stepmom works for a medical supply place, and they just pay for trips for the top sales people from each region, and they have a big top-seller conference. I agree though, I'd be pissy if you guys can't find a way for you to tag along. I know that here, you can get REALLY cheap flights to Europe right now. Maybe check out some prices?
Katie -- Wow, talk about extra motivation. I'm glad you're getting insurance too.

Alannah - sounds like work is keeping you busy. I often use the phrase "I need to get a life" when I spend too much time on the computer, find myself carrying on conversations with the dogs, or watching just a little bit too much tv. Actually, I kind of like having a not so crazy hectic life, but what are you looking for??? When the weather is nice, you should take your furkid to the local park and use her as man bait...LOL....when DH takes our dogs out, he's says they are like chick magnets..girls are all over him. Maybe that would work for you too (that is, if that's what you are looking for!!)
Also, when I'm trying to reach a goal weight, I also tend to hold back on all the social outings going on with my friends. It's just really hard to stay on track when everyone else is drinking, eating, and I'm standing there drinking diet coke or water with lemon. Lately, I have actually enjoyed going to the gym just so I can be around other people (understand that I work from home, so I don't have the luxury of office chat). There's a few of us that are pretty steady about being there early in the morning and it makes for a nice start to the day. Just some food for thought since it sounded like you were sort of bored and/or lonely. One thing I also recall from my single days was that no one ever came knocking on my door for idol chit chat...if I wanted to interact with people, I had to make a point to plan some things that got me out of the house. Okay, this post was longer than I expected....I'm babbling and need to go to bed.
TGIF (in just a couple hours). Night all.........

Evening all..
Well, my luck held and we had do it yourself chicken fajitas. So I ate one small tortilla, a couple forkfulls of rice and the chicken.. The chicken and rice were both quite salty, but I powered through it..
I'm also happy to say that not one corn chip with salsa or queso passed my lips...
One downside.. I did have a couple of decent sized bites of my dessert, which was a small round of chocolate cake and a (rock hard) frozen strawberry..
Have a good night everyone!

Good morning all! Busy, busy day today.
I worked until 8 last night, went home and made two double-batch pans of bread pudding with vanilla sauce. Got to bed around midnight and up at 5 this morning. At work around 7 and working until 5. Then it's off to pick up DS and drop him at the house where DD is watching him while I go to a rehearsal dinner for a wedding DH is in tomorrow. Tomorrow we have the wedding and Sunday is my mom's birthday. I was making a few sides and appetizers to take to my sister's for a small BBQ but was just informed that the 8 people turned into 25! So.... I will be cooking Sunday morning as well, I guess. I'm picking up the potato salad from a restaurant, though, because I'm not spending the time. I'm bringing veggie burgers and veggies and salad for me to the party so I should be OK. Lots of temptation this weekend, lots of alcohol. I'm taking it one minute at a time and hoping for the best. Will probably do FF Monday and Tuesday.
OK... back to work. I'll check in later. And I swear I will get back to the personals soon!

Hi! Newbie to the LAWL thread here! I've introduced myself up on the bios thread... Hope y'all read it! I'm not new to LAWL--joined this same month of last year and lost weight but had to put my account on hold due to personal matters but I'm starting up again this morning. I have a 10am appointment at the center....ummm...should say COD right? I've gained some of the weight back but I'm ready to get started again and head towards my goal. I'll be back later today and tell y'all how it all went.

Wow Cassie, have a fun weekend!
Dan- Great job! Chips and salsa are a nemesis of mine.
Libby- Great picture!
Alannah- Hang in there girl!
Joni- You are my shero, always giving such good advice. You should really be a life coach!
DS has a school play today, so I am off work at noon. Yahoooo for Friday! We are going to an outdoor concert tonight with 7 indie bands playing. Should be fun.
Have a great POP day all!

Oh, Joni, thanks for telling me about the Great Dane on Oprah. I just found the story online. He is so cute, and his mannerisms really remind me of my danes.

morning everyone. up early this morning..even though i don't work til 11am!
i made a huge cake last night for one of our managers that's transferring to another store here in town. i made a white cake with dark green (starbucks color) swirl and cream cheese frosting and then i drew the starbucks logo on the top along with a message for him! it turned out great and i decided to bring it to him early this morning since he had to open on his last day at our store. he loved it and thought it was so sweet. he didn't think anyone would really do anything for him since he's not really leaving town, just changing stores. he couldn't quit smiling! yay!
my passion is baking (culinary school will be in the works after the kids are in school and we move) but it's very personal for me to bake, so i don't just bake for anyone. i'm weird when it comes to that. anyone can buy cookies or a cake, but it really means something when it's baked from scratch.
but he really appreciated it and told my DH what an amazing wife he had! (made me blush!) so i totally surprised him and made his last day at our store!
so it's been a great start to my day. i'm thinking of going to COD today before i head to work, otherwise i'll do it tomorrow after work. not sure yet.
i'll be back later--well, later tonight.

Ooh Katie I love that idea!! The Dieter of the Month thing, but you know how we all are with goals. They need to be shorter, what about dieter of the week? And I think the “Trophy” should somehow be displayed in the avatar of signature, so we can look at it for the week, and it should be based on being POP, being a support to others and for posting regularly. And we could have a thread just for the voting each week. I like it I like it I like it!!! Anyone else…… 2 Cents…???
Nicole. I have been where you are so many times. Being a SAHM with 5 (or any number really) is tough. DH dresses nice in the morning, drives off with his cappuccino. Or stops at starbucks and gets something really yummy, gets to work and sees Adults! Then the boss takes him out for lunch and he orders enough food to feed a section of Africa, doesn’t eat it all but orders dessert too. When he gets home the kids run and jump on him and love him up like he is the hero (which he is….) and he gives them some lovin’s and does some of his own things in the evening like mow or putts around the garage…… then it is off to bed and he is ready for the “evening activities” (wink wink)
But then there is our day. We get up feed the baby and rush around the house in our jammies making sure that DH has everything he needs for the day, we get one last kiss as he walks out the door, smelling his aftershave, which will be the last good smell for the day! Time to change another diaper, We hurry to get school aged ones dressed and fed just in time to shove them out the door to the bus, or load them in the car to drive through crazy traffic to get them to school…. Late….on the way home we have to stop at Walmart to get diapers and milk. And that takes an hour… by the time we get home little ones are hungery again and diapers need changed, more stinky. We get them settled, maybe even into a morning nap, and we realize we are way behind on laundry and go load some, back to the livingroom to pick up some toys. But before you can even grab something to eat for lunch you realize that DD forgot to take her lunch to school. So you load up half sleepy little ones, knowing that you are going to pay later for cutting that nap short. Drive to the school and take the lunch in. While you are out you remember the books in the back seat that are late to the library so you swing by and drop them off. When you get home you have cranky little ones because they are needing a diaper change again and they had their nap cut short. When you get in the house you change the diapers and set the little ones loose in the living room to play so you can get the laundery switched, do the dishes from the night before and breakfast and start dinner……… oops that reminds you, the milk and diapers are still in the car! Before you know it the living room is trashed again, a diaper needs changed again, you never really made it to the bottom of the dishes or the laundery, dinner is burning and kids are walking into the house from the bus……. Or it is time to throw those little ones in the car again to go pick up the school aged ones. Your tired, supper is not ready you have already cleaned the livingroom three times today. The laundry pile somehow is bigger now after having run 3 loads than before you started and none of those have been folded. You look at yourself in the mirror as you are taking the one chance you had today to go potty. And you see on your shirt, spit up, the kids lunch, part of supper your were making and a splash of bleach from doing laundry. Just then DH walks in the door as you hear the kids jumping on him and squeeling with delight. You walk out to join them only to have DH look around the again messy living room and greet you with…… “what did you do today” grrrrrrrr. The evening is a blur of dinner, dirty dishes, homework, practicing musical instruments, projects for school, more diapers, one more load of laundry and a guilty look at the undone dishes and the clean laundry that never got folded…….. As you tuck the last little one in, you hear DH brushing his teeth and saying “ meet you in the bedroom” (wink wink)
You are right we need an award of some kind, but I think if we look closer we can find it.
Nobody can kiss away an owie like mamma, The house may look like everything fell apart, but just trying not having mom there……. Then you will see “fall apart”! DH seems to have it so good. But he didn’t get brought a bouquet of dandelions in the afternoon, or a picture during the day that says “I love you mommy” on it. DH is not the one home molding the future adults of this country, the SAHM is.
You are doing the best job in the world, and if I could I would give you 20 trophies!
Keep up the good work! I am with ya!
