Nancy - I actually have Pearl's home address and I've just been hesitant to write her, but I think I will this weekend. I was actually thinking of her this past week so much because she lives in Virginia, but she's about 200 miles away from Blacksburg, VA (VA Tech school).
Kim - you crack me up with the CAIL reference, shoveling out your house and the pooping Bichon! Something tells me you may need to have some bottled fruit tomorrow!!
Happy Dan Day!!
Cassi - LOL - the "batter" to the camera.........get your mind out of the kitchen!! Okay, no pressure to post a picture.......you actually did great with getting a new avatar and profile picture out there. Mine is getting rather old.
Got my workout in early this morning and I feel sooooooo good.

Well, WI didn't go as well as it should have but considering I was out of town all week, I'm not too freaked out.. I'm up about 6 ounces.. So I'll behave the rest of the day and see what tomorrow morning brings...

I most assuredly will be partaking of the liquid fruit, **** yes.

Happy Friday to all!!! We have been computer banned all week due to state madated testing but I am FINALLY finished!!! Somehow I was a "lottery" (yeah right) winner and had the privilege of doing oral testing to kids that are far too below grade level--the oral is okay--it's the reading the same damn quetion 10 times that gets me. I am strongly opposed to "social promotion" in education and feel a 6th grader on a 2nd grade reading level should not be in 6th grade. Sorry for the rant....
Anyway--I am totally sucking on LAWL right now and my jeans are TIGHT--guess that's a good sign I need/MUST get serious again. Geez...
I am happy (jealous) to read how well everyone else is doing--WTG. Love all the new photos and avatars--will have to post Easter photo later today. No personals--I have 9 in ISS today so they are keeping me hopping! More later.

Lea Ann - good to see you. Don't worry, some of us are hanging in this by the hairs of our chinny chin chins, not setting any weight loss records!
Have a good weekend all - heading home to commence the "cleansing"! Pray for me that MIL's Bichon has constipation tomorrow!

Hey Chickies/Roosters-seems my ears were burning so I thought I'd pop on . . . .and I was right!
I LEAVE ONE WEEK FROM TODAY! WOO HOO! Let the errands begin! So much to do . . . . . I saved a lot of it for the last week so I would be too busy to worry and stress eat!
On that note-I SUCK RIGHT NOW! I'm with you Boo-my jeans are feeling tighter and i don't like it. I also have been feeling somewhat powerless to stop it which I know isn't true, and yet . . .I feel like there isn't enough room in my brain to prepare for my new life with Josie and worry/plan my food. I need someone to do my shopping for me because even with the best of intentions I buy stuff on impulse every time I go in.
Every morning I recommit, and I do great until I get home from work. If I could only go to bed at 4pm-I'd be set . . .
I've been doing a little better the past couple of days (but not great, but at least no binges). I've got TONS of stuff to do-so I'm going to try TO this weekend. TO isn't bad when I'm busy.
Sorry I haven't been around-I've been slammed at work trying to get as much data finished before I take off. I've pretty much finished everything-so it's serious notebook time for me-I have a pile of printouts and handwritten notes piled on my "second" desk that I have to organize before i leave.
I've also felt too embarrassed and hypocritical to come on the boards (tail between my legs . . . )
Anyway-I did see that Kristen made goal! Awesome! You are such an inspiration to us all . . . .I admire your dedication.
BTW (sorry for the novel today)-last weekend I spent some time with my niece and nephew and we played around on their new trampoline (or what I call "accident waiting to happen!"-but hey-not my decision) and discovered what a great cardio workout it is to just jump up and down on that thing. And it's not like I'm in terrible shape . . .I'd been looking at those urban rebounder infomercials for awhile now and thought it looked fun, but maybe it wasn't such a good workout. I'm sold now though. When I got home-one of those infomercials was on and I ordered it. So-when I get back I will have a new toy. i can totally see using that while watching TV . . . .
Okay-I'll shut up now . . .
Did I mention I leave in 1 WEEK?!!!!!

Good morning everyone!!!
Happy Birthday Dan.
Cassi..........love love love the new picture and avatar. You and your daughter look more like sisters than mother and daughter. Both adorable I keep trying to figure out who your remind me of in your avatar......it's someone famous......but I am terrible at famous names.........can anyone help me out here? I hope your COD decides to switch you to blue.........with a schedule like that........you definitely need the exta calories. So, how is DH holding up? My DH would probably do just fine with everything if I was gone that much........everything that is, except the house. Oh, sure, the main areas would "appear" clean......but holy crap, every corner would be "crowded" and the counters would not be visable. The funny thing is.....he wouldn't even see those messes.........he is, let me say......relaxed about things like that I hope DH and kids are doing all they can to support you in this...........cuz I know how hard it is to do family/school/work. The funny thing is..........it is such a nice and exciting kind of busy, that most days turn out pretty darn good. I am so happy for you that you are pursuing this.....and I know it will only take a short time for you to find the balance with LAWL and your new busy life
Kim.........you are killing me today..........I love the CAIL's comments. Thanks for asking about my dad. He ended up back in the hospital yesterday. His blood work showed him to be a bit anemic, and his white count was up.....and his knee was pretty red and swollen and sore.........so they wanted to be safe and put him back in on IV antibiotics. It is hard for me to be so far away during all of this, but my dad wouldnt' want it any other way. He is a very unselfish man.....and knows I need to be here with my own family. He is doing ok......but if he weren't.......I'd be on a plane home........and he knows that. But........I have something even more interesting about my dad to share than his medical junk.
My dad is a very humble, honest, proud, good hearted man...........who has smoked and drank for his entire adult life. His alcoholism is no secret in our family...yet noone ever really talks about it too much. Well, since dad has been in the hospital.....he has neither been able to drink or smoke.......and when he was home for those few days......did neither........and today, when I talked to him on the phone.......I asked him how not smoking was going........as I quit 1 year ago and can totally relate to that madness.........and he said, "oh, it's ok....." And then I said something to the effect of how his body is probably freaking out right now, and doens't really know what to do without nicotine.........and he said, "yeah, and without the drinking too...." And all I could say was, "yeah, that too." But secretly, I was jumping up and down crying with happiness........cuz that is probably the only time he has ever acknowledged that his drinking habits are truly affecting his health to me. We all know it........and we all do what we can......but him talking about it soooo openly really gave me hope!!!! He will feel so much better, and heal sooo much quicker if he can stay off cigarettes and alcohol. He suffered really bad alcohol withdrawal this time......and I never want him to have to suffer that misery again. Anyway.......it was a really nice talk......and I am feeling really hopeful for him......and thanks for asking
Oh, also....I am down 1.8 since Wed.......so I guess this stinkin plan does work, and I am going to have to keep doing it..........
XOXO

BTW-does anyone want to see some amazing videos from a couple of my agency's families currently on Vietnam. There are 2 "gotcha" videos (the day they got their babies)-both made me totally bawl! (in a good way). I feel uncomfortable posting their blogs without asking-but if anyone would like to see them-PM me.

Dan!!!! It is my big brother's B-Day today too- he is 50!
They have a new website available at my COD. You can try it out for 3 weeks free then it is $19/month after but you can cancel anytime. I am trying it out. You get recipes and videos of how to make the recipes. There is a online journal- pretty basic though. Exercises that you can do. So far nothing really jumps out at me to pay that much for but I guess they are getting new things on it all the time. I will try my 3 free weeks and see how it goes. I'll copy recipes off the site and post them here. I was down .4lb today- not much but in the right direction.
Hope everyone has a POP day & weekend.

I just put a card in the mail to Pearl and then my brother sends me this link - and PEARL is in it!!
This is too funny not to share.......a little cussing but funny. I'm not sure it's legal to post a link, but I'm going to try...that's how funny I think this is.....features Will Farrell.

Hey guys, it’s official. I’m on blue!!!! I lost .6 this week. We talked about the tasting at school, etc. Basically, when we make meals (which will start in the next two weeks), we will have made a dinner for four, but then we all taste our group’s meal and then taste all the other groups’ too. So since I will know what we’re making, I will make up my daily menu ahead of time to allow for that to be part of my lunch. We’re tasting jelly beans Monday, so if anyone was wondering, in the maintenance book 12 jelly beans = 1 starch. J
Joni – I didn’t even catch the “batter” reference. I’m so funny sometimes! Glad someone is working out.
Dan – Just put off the b-day cake until tomorrow and have some… um… other dessert. The kind that burns calories. And includes Liz. Then you can WI @ your home COD tomorrow and you could make your b-day goal.
Kim – When I saw your “SH” reference I didn’t know if it was a typo, or if he was in trouble. I kept thinking “Shi@ Head” or “Shi@ty Husband”. But the MIL 6 o’clock rule rings a bell with me too. I love my MIL, but you can tell when she’s “drunk dialing”.
Lea Ann – Good to see you, but Holy Crap are you busy. 9 kids? What kinda school are they running? You’ve got some work today.
JM – I am soooooo excited for you! Don’t worry about being OP at this time. Just keep away from the off plan stuff, and try to eat in a healthful way to fuel your body since you will need all the energy you can get. You will soon get into a routine, but Josie is your priority right now. And, YES, I want to see the videos!!!!
Nicole – DH is doing OK, I guess. He seems OK on Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday is so-so and by Thursday he’s cranky. I can see this pattern repeating for the next 50 weeks. But he is doing great keeping up with the laundry and dishes, etc. I just need to sit w/him this week and get from him what he wants DD to do. Then I will make her a list and hopefully things will get a little smoother. I’m thinking about asking his parents to come up maybe Thursdays to maybe bathe Zack and just keep him company so he doesn’t lose it. I can put a casserole or something in the freezer for those days. But all in all, he’s great. We just have a few more details to work out to get things flowing smoothly.
And I’m glad to hear about your dad. It’s a very difficult thing, I know. But it sounds like you had a good talk.
Joni - LOL on the link.

Nicole- Fantastic news about your dad. I hope that his knee heals up soon as well. We got good news this week on the dad front too. As you know, my dad was diagnosed with inoperable prostate cancer last month. He began hormone therapy, and the Dr said we would have to wait and see how he would respond to it. When yo have prostate cancer they do a blood test called a PSI. My dad's PSI was 55. Normal is 2.5. The Dr said that by the end of the first month of treatment, they would want to see him below 25, then get into the normal range by the end of 3 months. He had his first PSA this week, and his score was 3.6. The Dr was thrilled, and said he is responding extremely well to treatment. Big sigh of relief from all of us.
