Paula- Glad that the test was not too bad. Crossing my fingers for good news. Also, good to hear that FIL is doing better.

Katie - what a day you have had. I'm happy to hear you were able to save Savannah and, of course, I'm so sad to hear about the puppy. Makes you almost wonder if Savannah had some doggie premonition about her puppy which made her desperate to get out of the bathroom. So sorry for your loss and hope Savannah does well with her stitches and recovery.

As we were getting into the car to come home, my dad called me to say that our mommy great dane, Savannah had just run into his garage spurting blood out of her leg. He tied her up and walked across the street to my house. He discovered that she had jumped through a picture window, shattering it. He walked back home, and she collapsed in the yard, so he lifted her into the back of his truck and raced her to the vet. Thank god the vet is only around the corner. I met him at the vet to discover that she had cut clear through a main artery, all of her tendons, and nerves, going clear to the bone. The vet raced her into surgery. He said that had we waited 5 more minutes she would have bled to death. When I picked her up this afternoon, I took the puppy in. The vet put a tube down his throat and fed him a lot, then gave him a saline injection under the skin. After I paid the $375.00 bill, I loaded the puppy in his crate and Savannah with her splinted leg into the car. By the time I got home, the puppy was dead. I guess his system could not handle all that the vet gave him. Savannah is sleeping, still fairly sedated. I am pretty much numb. How in the **** can so many things go wrong in one day? Thank god my dad was there and acted quickly, or I would have lost them both today. My front yard and driveway look like the Texas Massacre happened here today for as much blood is all over. I feel really bad about the puppy, but I also have a nagging feeling that he was not meant to make it from the start. Oh, and Savannah has to stay in a splint for 6 weeks in order for the tendons to repair themselves. WTF, huh?

Oh my gosh, what a crazy story! Poor puppy Maybe the momma knew it was coming and went through the window to get help. Aw, I feel terrible for you, so sorry.....

Katie- hugs to you sweetie, so sorry to hear about the puppy but so glad Mommy will be ok.
Ya know what totally sucks? Being OP, resisting Easter candy and all the yummy food and STILL gaining, grrr! It was only half a pound but it ticked me off LOL Made me wish for half a second that I had just eaten what I wanted. Then realized it wasnt worth it. Stupid ole TOM!!! Sheesh, the joys of being a woman LOL

Hey everyone!
Letisha - twin - I went for my WI and was up 1 lb. Could have been much worse so I'll take it. Let's have a great POP week!! We CAN do it!
Katie - I am so sorry to hear about your day. It is so sad about the puppy but perhaps you're right, maybe he wasn't meant to survive. I hope Savannah recovers speedily. Thank goodness for your Dad's quick thinking! Try to take it easy - you've had a rough day - my advice, a nice hot bubble bath!
Bye for now.

aww Katie,I feel so bad when It rains it pours ,It is like you said maybe the puppy just wasnt meant to make it .Mother nature has a way of deciding these things. As for your mom wow what freaked her out,I think that she sensed something wrong with her pup,and didnt want to be with it.
There will be other puppies. How are your kids dealing with it?
I am so sorry that you had a crappy weekend.

Last check before calling it a night.
Nicole - where you be???
Okay, I had a pretty good day and I've made several healthy dishes to get me through the next couple days (this is a major accomplishment in and of itself). I'm trying to combine a subtle 2 week "cleanse" program with the LAWL program, so in addition to the healthy LAWL choices I cannot have artificial sweetners, processed foods, caffeine or alcohol.....should be an interesting two weeks, but I'm up for the challenge.
Night all!

Morning all! It is one of my early days at work, so I had to be here at 5:20 AM, which is so cool, because then I am off at 1:20 in the afternoon. Savannah is doing pretty well. She seems to be pretty drugged. She kept making these loud grunts and groans during the night. I will post a photo of her with her splint later on today. She reminds me of a peg leg pirate the way she is clomping around on my hardwood floors.
I was not OP yesterday. Not terrible either, but man I am hating the gold plan! I keep slipping and eating an extra starch. I have been eating really lite starches most of the time, however, so I'm sure it is not the end of the world.
Joni- What a great plan. We would all do well to avoid the processed stuff. Good luck with it!
Debbie- My kids were sad for a little bit, my 6 year old DD even insisted that I "do something to bring him back right now!" It is so sad, but it is also a lesson in reality for kids. I have no idea what would posses Savannah to do what she did. I still have no idea how she got out of the bathroom in the first place. The vet suggested doggie prozac for a while if she does not bounce out of this funk. I worry about her becaue Danes do not have long life expectancies. A 9 nine year old dane is an old dog. She is almost 6.
Bobbysam- I took your advice on the bath and the wine. Oh, wait, you just said bath.....I threw in the wine part on my own, LOL.
Kim- We need to come up with some TOM buster that makes us have ultra fast metabolism and boundless energy during that week. You know, some kind of ultra superwoman drug that men only wish would work for them. TO's would be cancelled forever, since all we would need would be TOM to drop an easy 10 lbs. Hmmm, JM, you are our resident scientist. Get right on that, won't you?
Thanks all of you for your well wishes. I am sure that today will be a better day. I will be POP, I will be POP, I will be POP.......
