Too many veggies?
Hello all. I recently started the GI diet. To give a little more info on my background I have never been much of a vegetable eater. Today, included in my lunch was a blob of cooked veggies. Which was majority of my plate. And I felt satisfied after my meal. However, about half an hour later, I was just about as hungry as a pig!! I stayed on track and ate healthy snacks, but this was just after my big lunch! Has anyone ever felt like this before?? I would surely appreciate any input. Thanks in advance. :^:

When you're new to dieting you stomach often needs to get used to smaller portions.
You may not have had enough protein in your meal try having a larger portion of protein 3-4 oz of chicken, fish, lean meat, protein keeps you fuller longer... You could also have MORE veggies in the form of soups or salads .... There's nothing wrong with eating again 2 or 3 hours after a meal, eating another portion of protein along with a carb or fruit, I love 1/2c of cottage cheese with strawberries as a snack in the morning or afternoon. It's good to eat 5-6 balanced meals/day, it keeps your metabolism revved and your sugar levels even throughout the day... Hope this helps, and keep us posted on your progress.. |
