Monday Monday

Remember that song? Monday morning, na na na na.............

Okay, I'm back at work, ready to start another week. I've brought yogurt and cheerios to snack on later. I've already had about 25 oz of water, so I'm off to a good start there. I really want to push the water this week to see if I can quickly drop this pound I gained and then some! ;) It is a beautiful day, so maybe I will walk when I get home for my exercise today.

I need to pick up a few more things for the kids Easter baskets. I do some candy, but quite honestly, my kids aren't big candy eaters (lucky for them). I like to fill the basket with little items like hair clips, bubbles, baseball cards, itunes gift card, etc. So I've got to come up with some ideas and run around to pick them up.

Thats it for me today ladies. What about you?

I have to get my butt in gear and get moving!!!

I have to help my son (8 yr old) with his first oral report. Then my older son had a project to design a flag to represent his family-gotta help there too I am sure. Sometime in all this helping, I have to start packing for our trip or at least plan what needs to be washed before hand. I am already starting to stress!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Yes, already Monday morning. I had a nice weekend. I brought my 6 year old daughter to see Ice Age 2 yesterday afternoon. We had a nice time. She loved the movie. This was a special outing to reward her for her good behavious last week. She got 6 good days out of 7. That was excellent compared to 3 out of 7 in the weeks before that. So the sticker program is working great. If only the day hadn't ended with a fit when bed time came. Oh well, can't always be perfect. I lost it too of course and screamed at her. Not screaming is not easy but I did good all week as well and only screamed twice in a week, so I'm glad.

Today is a co-worker's birthday and she wanted KFC for lunch. So today will be a KFC day and cake day. I have to think about this before I make myself a plate. I can't do like Jorge says "Take one piece of chicken leg without the skin". The skin is the reason why I like KFC. Why eat KFC if you're not going to eat the skin if you know what I mean. But I will try to keep a lighter plate then I would normally have done. I've managed to lose 3 pounds last week, it would be nice to at least lose 1 pound even if today is KFC and cake day, and Sunday Easter with a meat fondue and chocolate fondue. But let's take it one day at a time, and think only about today's KFC day.

Have a nice day everyone! :)

I know what you mean about KFC. I usually compromise tho, I take have the skin off and eat the other half. Sometimes it works.

Hi Everyone,

I just got back from the Doctor's. He isn't real happy with the cortisone shots for my hip & wants me to think about hip surgery. He thinks I might be able to have medicare pay for Donald's care while I am laid up. I told him I'd think about it.

He says I should lose at least 20 lbs before surgery. One more reason to lose this !@#$%$% weight!

Okay, so I didn't do that badly. I took a wing and a leg. That usually comes around 300 calories, still too much, but it's not as fattening as the other pieces. And the cake, I took half a piece and didn't eat the icing. So I'm quite proud of myself. I did good! I know I had way more then 400 calories for lunch, but at least I didn't pack over 1000 calories like I could have easily done. Not sure how much calories this could amount to, but what can I say, I still have to live life and enjoy it!

Great job Francine! :carrot: And you are SO right - you still have to live life AND enjoy it! What a wonderful job of compromising! Good for you! :D

Lynn- my mom has had both hips replaced. The second one was done last Oct. She was in SO much pain before hand - could barely walk. She is 100% fine now, no pain. Surgery was Oct 10 or so. After 3 days in the hospital, she went to a nursing home for 2 weeks. It worked out very well for her to do that. (The first time she came directly home from hospital, but had very RARE complications, so didn't do that again.) By the time my husband fell on Nov 20, she was probably at 75 - 80% recovered. If you can work it out with Donald's care, you will be so much better able to care for him after about 6-8 weeks of your recovery. And no pain to boot, so think about it!
