  • I am up 1 pound! GRRR! BUT! I am down on my inches. Go figure. I did go out to dinner last night. So hopefully its just the salt.

I am down an additional 3.6" from December. Now at 25" total loss since begining this diet. (or way of life)

So I am excited but bummed that the scale is going up and not down. I think its all the weight training. But if only........ a couple more pounds.
  • Keep Going! Inches speak more than pounds!
    Allie
  • You go girl! Its probably just the salt, push the water and that should help.
  • Yup I agree with Laurie...keep up the water and the weight will come off. Inches are a great success though!!! So don't be discouraged!!
  • Congratulations Dani!!!
  • Yes it is the weight training.....your body will adjust and you will drop the pounds. Don't give up Dani, your doing so great!!!

    Phyllis
  • Same thing happened to me today, I went to my weigh-in and stayed the same but i'm down in inches and my clothes feel better! I'm gonna try not to let myself get bummed by the numbers on the scale!
  • Inches - MUCH more important than pounds. The more weight-training, the more muscle. The more muscle, the better your metabolism will work.

Congratulations girls for losing those inches - CELEBRATE!
  • Also remember, muscle weighs more than fat, but takes up 5x less space!! The scale is NOT what matters. Inch loss is the true indicator of fat loss. Great job, Dani!
  • I agree that inches are better than pounds, but it is nice to see the numbers on the scale go down. I started taking my measurements last week and it is amazing the difference. In 2 weeks, I have lost a total of 3 inches. I will do my measurements again on Mon when I weigh in. I am going to keep tabs of my measurements weekly. You are doing great!!!!
  • Way to go Dani! Not only will you be skinny skinny but you will be buff too!
  • Dani, that's exciting. And like everyone else says, it's not the number on the scale that matters. It's what the tape measure says, what your clothes tell you and how you feel about yourself. Muscular people will always weigh more than a person the same size that doesn't build muscle. It takes your body a while to adjust to the muscle building.
  • Hey Dani & everyone,

I was monitoring my inches but then stopped. I had a spreadsheet where I put them in. Well, after reading Dani's post I decided to re-measure. I am shocked to say that I am down a total of 35 inches from when I first started!!!! WOW!!

Here is the breakdown for the major parts. I am down:

    *27 pounds
*2.5 inches in my upper thigh
    *6 inches in my hips
    *6 inches in my waist
    *3.5 inches in my chest
    *1.75 in my arm

Needless to say...I am happy!!!!! Measuring is so great -- especially when you haven't done it for a long time and you are down!!!
  • WoooHooo Anita......that is so amazing.....

    Proud of you, Phyllis
  • you go girl!
