It's Hump Day!!

  • Good Morning ladies! How is everyone doing? Does anyone have any comments, questions or confessions??

I have a confession: those hershey kisses kept calling my nap last night and well *gulp* I gave in Where's the whip, someone needs to break it out on me!

How has everyone's week gone since going back to work since the New Year?

Has everyone checkd out that recipe that Lynn posted!?!? It sounds so YUMMY! Gotta try it!

Hope everyone has an awsome day!
  • Consider yourself whipped my dear! And wipe that smile off your face! JK... Just try again. No point in beating yourself up about it. In the long run it isn't going to matter just that one time - but if you let it get bigger it will swallow you whole!

Anywho - good Wednesday morning to you Ladies. I have been doing well - I have been resisting the urge to get on the scale but I think that my clothes feel a little looser. If I start with the weighing I will be getting on that damn scale every half hour. I am nutty with that scale. So I put it away and dig it out on Sunday Mornings only.

I am journaling and trying to nail down how this program works so that I can plan meals better - Ostensibly it is simple - but if you are trying to think out of the box it is not easy to decipher everything. Laurie that calorie breakdown will help me.

The protein thing sort of confuses me. If I ate a hamburger made from beef that would have WAY more fat than if I eat a soy burger - yet that doesn't seem to matter... I am wondering if I am not eating meat - should I be adding any extra fat?

Anyway - I hope you all have a successful day - I am so excited to see how much we all lose this first week! I know I will loose more than normal because of water weight - but it will still make me feel better and very motivated...
  • Good Wednesday Everyone,

Laurie, when all else fails, go to bed. Alternatively, make a deal with yourself - for every Hershey's kiss, you need to walk X miles more than your regular walk. BTW, do you have the Walk Away the Pounds tape/DVD? You could always do a 1/2 hour of that.

DaisyBug - BTW, is your name Daisy? One of the things that we found out about this diet is that if you want to be precise, you need to use the calorie chart. Laurie posted it recently. Otherwise, a lot of stuff doesn't make sense. Really, the important thing to me is following the scheduled eating times and cutting back on carbs and fat.

It's a beautiful day in East Central PA. Sun is shining & it is pretty warm for January. I'm getting ready to go to the store & get my passport replaced (my passport is missing - either it got lost in the move, or someone lifted it). Not that I'll be doing any travelling any time soon, but I always like to have it anyway.

    Check back later,

    Lynn
  • You coming to see me, aren't you?!?!? But then again you wouldn't need a passport for that! LOL!
  • We're all coming to see you Laurie.....watch out!!!!

It is going to be 72 and sunny here today which is just about perfect winter weather for Florida. I am getting ready to walk my dog and then my first offical visit to the exercise studio.

I am getting my water in but it has been difficult, I just drink a couple of the glasses really fast to get it over with....hopefully I'll get use to it again soon.

I weigh every a.m. and use the Weight Commander also like Lynn. It helps me to see that graph going up or down.....makes it real I guess. I really pretty much can tell by how I eat and feel if I'll I am up or down, getting to be a pro at this I guess.

    Have a good one everyone.

    Phyllis
  • Most people call me Daisy - the bug is for my vw Beetle, LOL...

The only way I am successful with making a deal is if I pay first... IN other words walk the extra 20 minutes and THEN allow myself something in return - of course I typically feel so good then that I don't bother but the point is it is MY choice...
  • Everyone has to do what works individually for them! A variety and different thoughts and ideas amongst is a wonderful thing. That way we can share ideas!
  • Question about oatmeal...
Can we have oatmeal? The book states cooked, hot cereal. What does that consist of?
    Melissa
  • I can't see how one could list hot cereal and not include oatmeal when they were thinking thta... Probably oatmeal, cream of wheat, maybe grits? I don't know... but when someone says hot cereal to me I immediately think oatmeal...

    Madame Devo? What say you?
  • Oatmeal is included as a hot cereal ! Speaking of oatmeal anyone tried that Weight Smart Oatmeal by Quaker? Its pretty good, not as good as the regular but its good.
  • JC encourages oatmeal because of all the health benefits!

Happy Wednesday. I am very late checking in today -- busy busy. Today was a so-so OP day. Not bad but not 100%. I will be better tomorrow.
