working through plateau with type 2
Hey, I've posted once before ,but now I'm needing a little assistance. I was diagnosed 2 1/2 years ago with metabolic syndrome/type 2 diabetes. I've managed to lose from 294 to 173. Now up to 185, I would like any ideas on jumpstarting my loss again , My goal is 150-160. I use a diet diary with a goal of 1500-1600 cal a day. I try to keep carbs 45-50%with pro 25%, fat 20- 25%. I also try to get 35- 45 grams of fiber/day ( it helps to keep my glucose steady). I walk and use my pedometer. At 46, I know it will be harder to get it off but I'm not giving up. Any ideas on how to fire me up again would be appreciated. I also work 3 12 hours nightshifts as a nurse so I have to modify my eating on those days, and sometimes I don;t reach my dietary goals. Any ideas?:?:

Hi . . . BCOOPER . . . :wel3fc:
Boy do I ever know what you are facing, girl . . . it is difficult but Diabetes is managable. I was diagnosed with type II about 15 years ago and basically didn't take it all that seriously until the last few years (since I had to start using inuslin as well as all the other meds - Glyburide, Metformin, Actos). Wow, does the insulin ever pack on the weight, especially around the waist  There is a special 3FC support forum for Diabetics where we can chat about all our trials and tribulations . . . Hope you will come over and join us . . . here is a link . . . DIABETES SUPPORT Look forward to seeing you over there. |
The nurse in me needs to know details!
Are you doing glucose checks throughout the day? |
