Hi everyone i just found this site a few mins ago as i was searching the net.My name is mari and i am a 26yr old sahm.I hadnt really noticed that i had gained alot of weight but i went clothes shopping yesterday and nothing fit in "my" size. I was so depressed i just came home and cried. So my diet started this morning i relaized i need to loose the weight to be healty and happy.I am trying to keep a positive attitude as i start this process. I just cant figure out which diet is best for me.I am 5'4 and weigh about 270 (last dr vist) i have to guess on that cause i dont own a scale.

Best of luck on your weightloss journey. My personal opinion: While a scale can be discouraging when it keeps going up or isn't going down fast enough while dieting, I feel it is an invaluable tool to REALISTICALLY track what you are doing (e.g. when dieting you may think you are eating "better" but maybe still eating too many calories so you can tweak when you see the scale go up). Also, if you weighed yourself more frequently, you probably would have gotten alarmed months ago when that weight was creeping up and that may have motivated you to get on track much earlier.
