BRand spanking newbie.... looking for support and accountability
Hi all:
I've been lurking here for a few days and decided to join up. Seems like a very supportive forum and lots of good vibes! Wednesday I went to the Dr and she basically told me to lose at least 40 lbs or risk a heart attack at age 32. That night I was playing with my 10 month old (not even hard playing) and got light-headed and out of breath! It was a wake up call for me. My wife thinks that while I need to lose weight, she shouldn't have to suffer, so I'm stuck with a house full of junk food. Luckily (in a way), I'm not a sugar addict. I can pass on cookies, ice cream, et al.; what gets me every time is salty foods. I can't eat just one .. damn you Lays! I'm going to start trying to lose weight by counting calories and limiting my meal sizes. Also no food after 8 pm. I can't stand water... but I gave up my Pepsi for Diet Lipton Green Tea. And even though my wife laughed and rolled her eyes, I used a set of my daughters utensils to eat dinner tonight, since I wolf food I thought it would slow me down... which it did. Anyway, just wanted to do a quick intro. Thanks, Jourdain |
