Hi Y'all! I'm new here!

Hi everybody! Looking forward to working with everyone towards our goals! I have so much to lose though, it's hard to know where to start. I have had difficulty in the past losing weight. I have the dedication to stick to something and exercise, but I tend to give up after a couple of months of losing no weight at all. I feel like I could really stick to it, if I finally found something that worked for me to lose weight.

Any ideas on how I should start???

It seems like I've tried so many things, mainly involving calroie counting. Maybe it was the combination of foods I was eating?

Most recently, I tried South Beach. I liked the diet plan and it made sense to me. I followed the book guide exactly for 2.5 months. I lost 4 pounds in that time while most people lose 8-14 pounds in the first 2 weeks. During that time, I also hired a personal trainer ($$$). I went faithfully 3 times a week and worked out 2 other days on my own. I was getting discouraged early on because of no weight loss. People kept telling me I must be gaining muscle. Well, that's all well and good and I know it's important to weight train for various health reasons. But, when you are 100 pounds over weight, you just care about the pounds coming off - or at least I do. I want to see results on the scale. So, I stopped.

Maybe I should try SB again but this time without the weight training in the beginning. I need to get some pounds lost to get some confidence that I CAN DO THIS - right now I have very little.

Anyone else struggle with working really hard with no results?
