Don't just eat soup. Like ya said, it's not too healthy. Just grab a calculator and count your calories every day, drink lots of water and never skip breakfast. With 1300-1400 calories a day and any kind of exercise you will lose quickly.

I agree...just count your calories...Plus, how much exersize are you used to? The increase will help greatly. Remember, you can do it! We are here to help if you need more support! I think thats the key to any good diet!

I agree with the counting calories and exercise as well. However, if you are looking for a semi-healthy quick fix try doing South Beach Phase One until you leave. It's lower carb - lots of veggies, lean protein and dairy. I did it without exercise and lost about 9 lbs in under two weeks. Combined with exercise, you should see a significant loss.

We have no way of knowing how much you will lose but ... if you do cardio, lift weights and eat a healthy, lesser amount of calories ... you'll feel much better and look better for your holiday.

AMEN!

The problem with quick fixes is that you CAN lose weight, but you probably aren't losing a lot of FAT. Isn't that what we want to lose?

Here's one reason NOT to do an extreme diet. Do it, eat only soup and add in exercise. 20 days really isn't much time, but you'll probably lose weight. Most of that will be water weight. Maybe some muscle and a little fat.

Then you'll go on holiday, give up the "diet" -- because it's unworkable on holiday. You'll start to gain it back. When you get back from holiday, you won't be motivated to keep up with the "diet" (now that the holiday is over and that was your motivation), and you'll continue to gain weight. Maybe you'll gain more weight than you started off with. However, you won't gain muscle (which would be good), but you'll gain it all back as fat, so you'll be flabbier than before.

So, it's 2 months from now, and now you're worse off than when you started.

Okay, yes, I made that sound very extreme, maybe more extreme than would actually happen. I'm not saying that is the only outcome, but it seems that this is the kind of pattern MANY people experience when they do extreme diets.

If you are really COMMITTED to losing weight, then do what Susan and the others suggested. You won't get as far before your holiday, but you may be more likely to stick with your plan during and AFTER your holiday. 2 months from now you could be on your way to a healthier, thinner you!

hi i agree with everything you guys are saying!
like i said i need a quick fix tho!
case of drop the pounds for the holiday put them all back on while there and back to my routine after!
at the moment i do 30 mins cardio a day15 mins toning and a 15 min 'treat' swim.... probly 6days a week and i try to stay under 1200cals a day....i wanna drop 15-20 pounds........

Toning? You mean lifting weights? You could increase the weight a bit and build some calorie consuming muscle. That'll help you get back quicker after your holiday.
