Unhappy I know you can't see me but.....

I know you can not see me but this is such a sensitive subject for me that i have sat at this computer opened this sit looked around and closed it,came back later, same thing. This started at about 10:00 am. Not saying this for sympathy just so you will know where I am in my war of weightI sit here now crying, struggeling to admit once again I have failed. My highest weight was 207 I think. This may not seem like much to some but to me it is horrible. I do not look at myself in the mirror and do not let my husband of 10 yrs see me either. I have to have war with myself to even be intimate because of the way I look to me. Maybe 10 times this whole yr. I struggle with bulemia, not daily or weekly it has been about 14 yrs of on & off. I ca not stand to feel over full and I fight this daily and feel like I am loosing. My mom was overweight all of my life and very sick. She died 2 yrs ago at age 58. I was at my highest at that point. Lost to 167 and now after a sressful job at a computer all day am back to 187. What a war. I am sitting here writing this with no clue of how to begin to lose or where to begin. How I decide what to eat, count calories, carbs, sugar what?? Can anyone offer any advice on where to begin this journey????

You have not failed. You haven't ... because there's time left.

Here's the most basic advice. You need to eat less and move more.

You can count whatever you like as long as it's less.
You can move however you want, as long as it's more.

What did you eat yesterday? That's a good place to start.

You made your first step by posting here. The most important thing is to eat healthy and in moderation and exercise. Just even if you can start out doing a 10 minute walk a day and build up longer on that would benefit you greatly. You can do it just stay positive!! There are a lot of ups and downs when losing weight, we all have been there. You will always have support on these boards.

I know this site can be a little overwhelming at first... what with there being SO MANY threads and different forums. You might want to check out the Chicks in Control forum. It's a good starting place.

You'll get a lot of wonderful ideas and some awesome support at 3FC!!! Welcome!

Default I need to pick up a feather.

Thanks Susan. Such simple advice. I could complicate a glass of water. My mom always said I was my worse enemy and if I was gonna beat myself up so much I needed to put the bat down and pick up a feather!! I always had a problem listening to my mom. haha Thanks for responding!!

YOU HAVE NOT FAILED!!!!!!!!!
To fail is to give up - you haven't done that. What did you do last time to lose the weight? I happen to be a calorie counter who lifts weights....but everyone needs what works for them. We are here for you whatever you chose to do!

on catching yourself at 187...you are still down 30 pounds from your highest. Be proud of that!

Have you mentioned the bulemia to your doctor? That worries me...you need to find a HEALTHY way to lose weight.

Hope to hear more from you, Mimi!
