New to 3FC

Hi Everyone! I am new to 3FC and looking for the support on my weight loss journey. I have been a big girl all my life and now that I have a daughter (6months) I am really motivated to loose. Three weeks ago I started WW and it has shed a big shinny light on me. So far I have lost 7 1/2 pounds. I would like to loose 80 total. Can't wait to meet everyone.

Sage:)

Congratulations!!!!

Hi and Congratulations on your weightloss!!!
I'm a newbie on here too! (joined today) I have the weightwatchers books and thought about trying to use them as a guide. I am unable to go to the meetings. I thought about joining the online WW, but haven't done so yet. Right now, just trying to watch what I eat. (Being conscious of my intake) Eating healthier and sticking to it!!!! I made my mind up this am!!! I am tired of yo-yo dieting and I guess I am having a fat day!~~ Anyways, CONGRATULATIONS on your weightloss!!! Keep it up!! later :)

Hi ladies and welcome!

I hope you don't mind if I copy a message I posted for someone else just a bit ago, it's a lot of good advice I received when I first came on here and being the naturally lazy person that I can be on my only day off, ;) I can kill 3 birds with one stone! :D Hey it's all about working smarter right? :carrot:

The best advice I received when I got here has held soooo true. You have to look at this as a LIFESTYLE change not a diet. Diets begin and end, they don't work. You can't stop eating one way for a while and then expect to return to that way when you have achieved whatever goal it is that you have set.

The next thing I heard, which is also right on, is motivation will fail you, dedication to a process won't. You have to get up every morning and rededicate yourself to this process of healthy living and believe that the weight loss, smaller sizes or a tighter body will be the result.

Third, changes don't have to be dramatic. Do the little things. Water is a good start. Find things that don't cause to much stress. Use mustard instead of mayo, take the skin off chicken, fresh foods instead of canned or processed, skim instead of whole milk, take stairs instead of the elevator, walk (get your heart rate up) for just 10 minutes a day, those sorts of things.

Then the REASON that we really want to do this is...FREEDOM, freedom from pain, self neglect, the restrictions we put on ourselves because we think we are to big or because people will criticize. :o There is a great post on the 300+ thread, I can't find it right now (puter problems), but i'm sure many will be able to point you in the right direction.

If you feel you need a boost now and then, hang out in the maintenance section. LOTS of success there! :carrot: But be warned...they will also tell you that maintenance is HARDER than losing! So you really have to be committed.

Best of luck to you!

Ok, found that post! http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/show...44&postcount=5
