new here about to get a lab band
 

Hi, I just found this site. I'm 26, a wife and mother of the most stunning 2 year old alive (except yours of course) and about 120 lbs. overweight. I will be going for my lab band surgery on Nov. 6th. This Monday, I started a liquid diet of Optifast because I have a fatty liver and my doctor says I have to lost 20 lbs. and shrink my liver before surgery. I will be going to Columbia Presbyterian and Dr. Bessler will be doing the surgery. So. I'm very very hungry but very excited for this. I have been fat nearly my whole life and I'm exhilerated that I'm finally doing something proactive and meaningful to improve my quality of life. I would love to hear any support or any advice.

Hi and good luck to you, you sound excited and with good reason. I have 3 really good friends who have done and continute to do phenomenally with the lapband. There is a website that is strictly devoted to people with lapband surgery - it's -www.lapbandtalk.com - you should definitely check it out, it is loaded with info and people who are in all stages of the lapband surgery.
