Hi from this MTB-in-training!

That's a "MOM-TO-BE"-in training!! I am on a journey to lose 90 lbs to be at a more healthy & fit place in order to have our first baby. Due to male factor infertility, we know that we will be going through medical treatments and I want to be as healthy as I can be for that. I'll never be skinny, but I can be a LOT healthier by next summer when we will take our first trip to the fertility clinic.

I will be achieving this goal by living a clean, healthy and whole lifestyle - letting go of my death grasp on sugar, fat, processed foods and white flour. I will be exercising at Curves, walking and doing Fertility Yoga.

I've got a couple of big challenges coming up in the next 9 months - my DH and I are moving to a new state and I will be looking for a new job (management level). Not the optimal time to make such huge lifestyle changes? I know - but it needs to be done.

Last week I turned 34 years old and I want to start our family ASAP. We spun our wheels for the past year trying to adopt a child - it did not work out and we were heartbroken. And now I feel as if I can't waste one more second.

It hurts my soul to know that my unhealthy habits and what they have done to my body are further delaying the journey to my child, but I can't dwell on that. I just have to change.

I hope to become a regular part of this community as I start this new path...:carrot:

You absolutely can not dwell on the past. You can start making changes today. What better motivation does one need then that of a new child. I've been on a "diet" now since Sept. 4, I get weighed tomorrow (can't wait). The first few weeks were really tough, but now believe it or not I don't even want or crave any junk food or fatty food. It is truly amazing to me, because I was the biggest eater in the world with a bottomless pit of an appetite. There are some days when I really must force myself to eat because I'm just not that hungry. Beleive me if I can do this anyone can. You will be so happy when the pounds start falling off. Good luck!!!! And hope to hear from you soon.
