I'm a forty-plus mom and wife who wants to be as healthy as can be. Two years ago I successfully lost 30lbs and competed in the Danskin triathlon thanks to the support of the great woman on this site. Together we shared our ups and downs on this difficult path. Although I gained most of the weight back, I'm starting in a better place than I left off - I'm stronger and healthier, I eat better and engage in more positive activity. I've made some important life changes, but have a long ways to go. If you'd like to join me, please do. Let's just check in frequently sharing our challenges and highs of the day.
My most successful tips for losing weight so far are:
- fill the cabinets and fridge with healthy foods
- counting calories and exercising really, really works!
- 1% milk, yogurt and frozen fruit smoothies are a wonderful ticket to losing
weight and a great ice cream alternative.
Hope you'll join - we can all be much slimmer and healthier by the Holidays!

), married with two teenagers. I've yo-yo'd for years and have now come to the point where I want to lose weight, and keep it off for good, more for health reasons rather than for physical appearance alone ... although that of course would be a great bonus! My plan is to keep one eye on healthy eating and the other on the calories. I'm at my highest weight ever and I know that if I don't do something about it now it's going to be too late. I have a family history of various health problems and I don't want to be the next in line for any of them ... I hope I haven't left it too late!
