San Diego Lady would like some buddies

  • Hi & welcome to my thread. I am the type of person who needs the support or all will power goes out the window. I am great at giving support and would love to help others lose weight along with me. Its a long road but I am willing to walk all the way down it with others by my side.

  • Hi there ! Thank you. I would love to be yours too. That is so cool. We want to get to the same size. If I can remember back, I think being 140 is a size 8 for me. That is the size I want to get to. I am about your size right now. I wear around an 18-20.

    What type of diet are you on? I am just eating healthy. I drink a 100% Whey protein shake blended with ice, banana and a scoop of reduced fat peanut butter. The rest of the meals are fruit, veggies and protein. If I do eat carbs, it usually is brown rice.

    I just started to lift weights last week and hit it too hard. I hurt my knee and lower back. I had to take a 4 day break but I am ready to start working out again.

  • Hi Ladies! (Fiddler, sorry I didn't see your reply to my thread sooner. I'll answer here) Can I join up? I'm combining 'techniques'. Diet-wise, I'm going to use a combined Mediterrean / Sonoma (but without the wine, since it's a downfall for me that I best avoid entirely.)....that means heavy on fruits and vegetables and whole grains....less on everything else. I'm also incorporating Julia Havey's program....where you take it slow and easy, and attack one food or drink vice at a time. For exercise, at this point in time, walking is about all I can handle. I'd love to motivate you two for some helpful encouragement in exchange!
  • Hey! I will be your buddy as well!! (me, brainychick). I am retaining a ton of water today, so I am not letting the 5lbs gained overnight depress me, though it has made me go over the 300lb mark. Ugh.

    But I am sticking with my goal!!

  • Hi Wendy. Welcome. The more the merrier !! Right now I am just eating healthy. Protein shake in the morning blended with a banana and a scoop of reduced fat Peanut butter. Surprisingly it keeps me satisfied until close to lunch. The rest of the day is filled with fruit, veggies and other types of protein. I get my carbs through the fruit or brown rice. I started weight training last week until I hurt myself. Had to take several days off but I am back to working out tonight.

    Taking it slow and easy is a good idea.
  • Brainy !!!! Happy to see you ! What do you want me to call you in here? I can call you pretty. You know, I am retaining water big time today too. TOM is still here and I had a 2.5 lb water gain since yesterday. I know I didn't eat that much. It's tough being a woman and women understand that, not those guys we are dealing with. You know what I mean? Don't let the water weight depess you and I won't let it depress me. I know what you can try. Warm lemon water, no sweetner. It helps get rid of the extra water. I dont know why I didnt think of it earlier.
