Hi there, My name is Leslie and I am a new member. I have struggled with my weight all of my life...as most of us have but have finally decided that enough is enough.
I want to ride the big rides at the amusement park, be able to walk the aisles of the grocery store and simply live life as a normal human being.
I have lost about 30 pounds but have a ways to go. The great posts that I have read here helped me to decide to join as a way to get and offer support.
I live in Washington state but would love to have a weight loss buddy from any area to share stories and recipes with.

Hi...Im a newbie too. Ive been browsing the site for a month now and I just finished registering after reading your post...after being an island...Im starting to think that there is something to be said for having a support system. Ive always shied away from joining a forum because everyone is already embedded in previous conversation...but since we're both new...I figure we can bounce posts off each other...my roomate is registering now too...we are both 2 days in...no to very, very low carb...Ive lost a good many pounds doing this before so Im gonna try it again...what strategy are you using?

Its me Korie. my roomate is on here to anguilla dream and we are going to lose this weight together. i need my body back for Myrtle Beach.. so people get ready... august is almost here!!!!

I am praying so hard that I can lose about 40 more pounds before that...if not I will be so upset. If I dont stop and start once a week I can actually do it. So right now Im two days in and Im trying with all my might not to stray. Weekends are hard...I think once I conquer those I'll be good. I'm trying to think of them as just another day.

I have just joined as well. I am 6 days into my first serious weight loss venture in over 10 years. Wow - I didn't realize that until I just wrote it! I am wayyyy overdue! LOL

Yeah I want to have a normal life - my weight is finally making my choices for me and I don't want to live that way anymore. I want to have all the options open to me that everyone else has.

Leslie - Welcome to 3FC! I totally know what you mean about wanting to live life like a normal human being. I got to the point where everything was such a challenge - I would become completely exhausted from a trip to the grocery store, so when I came home I would sit down in front of the fridge to put the groceries away. There are lots of great areas here, but I welcome you to check out the 300+ section. We have a main thread and there is also a place where we log our exercise together to help keep each other motivated. Congrats on already losing 33 pounds – that is fantastic! Wherever you find best fits you, you have definitely come to the best place for support!

Hi, I just wanted to say hello.
This site seems awesome. Everyone seems so supportive.
I started my healthy new lifestyle on April 28th and I am down 21 pounds so far usining WW points systems. I wish you all luck and I want to say "thanks" for words of encouragement to others, those same words are encouraging to me.

This is so nice to be able to actually have an outlet...have lots of family and friends..but except for a couple of them...the struggle we face is...well, thy dont really know how deep it can be for some of us. Sometimes it takes up every waking moment...whenever we're not doing what we have to do we obsess...did we gain, did we lose? Will we eat? Will we cheat? It gets to be too much sometimes...but I managed to get to the gym today for a full 45 minute workout and it felt great...I was as pleased as punch when I walked out of there. I hope to keep the good vibes going...and I managed to stick to my eating plan too. How is everyone else doing?

Hey guys...just had the headache of my life at work today.. I dont know if going Low Carbs is the way for me.. but i am a sugar addict so i know my body is detoxing.. I dont know what tomorrow wil bring, but i hope not another bout with a migraine...i missed my walking today so im kinda upset..but i will be on it in the morning...

Thanks so much to everyone that posted...you made me feel so welcome. I just wanted to pass something on that I saw on Oprah today...I am sure some of you have already heard it...but...She said that being overweight is a decision....so is losing. Somehow that really hit a nerve with me...they are buried but they are there. I am making a decision..here and now. I will lose, pure and simply.

I am having a problem..I am doing Atkins am havent been eating less than 20 carbs.. i have not dropped any weight in 3 days... am i doing something wrong. I have been drinking crystal light as a supplement to water... i do drink at least 48 oz a day... i am excersing 1 hr a day...
