Take out Queen is Back Again!!
Well, I'm here again. I think that I really should invent a roller coaster with my name on it, and all the loops are Wendy's #4 combos and all the twists are filled with doughnuts. I am the inevitable junk food junkie, don't want to cook, take out or order it queen. AND IT ALL STOPS HERE!! I am tired of the jokes about my dialing finger being the fittest thing on my body, although it may be true! Anyone out there ready to take the diet coke and extra nuggets by the sauce and get in shape with me? Well, regardless I'm going to come on here every Monday night and rant or rave about some lost poundage. OR, maybe just rant and rave, hehe. I'm 32 years old, I live in Toronto Canada, I just got married in LAS VEGAS!! I loved that city! I'm going to lose the weight this time, not temporarily shift it around so it looks like I tried! Wanna join me ladies? I'll be back :queen:

Consider reading Fast Food Nation. That book cured me of any interest in eating at or supporting fast food chains.
Good Luck and Congrats on your recent marriage! |
Ditto on Fast Food Nation! Another good one is Fat Land: How Americans Became the Fattest People in the World. And, of course, the movie Super Size Me.
|
Congratulations on your marriage! I recently got married as well. It's definitely time to kick it in gear for me, now the wedding is over.
Re:Super Size me....I haven't touched Mc Donald's since! I'm -so- going to look into those books that are mentioned. Good Luck Carlie! |

Hi Ladies! Believe it or not I have read the book and I have seen the movie. Fast Food Nation is actually going to be a documentary in the making, so maybe the movie will help me! I am not a big fan of Mc Donalds, never have been. Not that the other chains are better. Right now I'm trying to weigh (HAHA) my options on joining a gym vs joining weight watchers. I have girls at work on WW and they have done well. Ofcourse they all are in it to lose 20-30pds where I am trying to extract this extra 10 year old child from my left side! My co-worker brought up that I should join her gym with her and we would go after work together and she would drag me with her **** or high water. Any thoughts on my dilemma? The financial part pretty much evens out so money isn't really the issue. Hmmm... thoughts please chiquitas:listen:

Let's put it this way... this book pushed me over the edge into being willing to spend a lot more $$$ to start shopping at a local chain that specializes in natural food, grass feed animals, humane treatment etc. I don't think there is any way now I could choke down a McDo's burger LOL |
WW or gym?? I would guess it depends what you are looking for. I have never been on WW myself but I do have a few friends who do. I've been told WW is very effective, custom tailored and also a support network. If your looking to walking or something at home for exercise (with WW) I'd go with that program. If your looking for something more physical or outside of the home for exercise spend the money joining a gym, perhaps your support network will be your co-worker. I use the gym a lot while I'm in college because that's the type of exercise I'm looking for and works for me, but if I wasn't motivated myself to go I'd go for WW. Once again depends what your looking for... hope that helps.

LOL and if you don't think the food is disgusting enough....

I went to the book store and thought about buying this but honestly this book will not change my mind none of this is very new and the same thing happens with some of the meat you buy in the store too. |

Perhaps it won't change your mind and that's fine... I had already decided to at least buy a meat grinder before I read the book as I was also aware of a lot of what is going on. But when huge percentages of the ground beef being tested contains fecal matter... the "big words" for a word I can't even say in this forum but we all know what is... go ahead and eat it if you want. I intend to do all I can to keep from having "you know what" in my sandwiches. :) I am working too hard to get fit and healthy to destroy it with chemicals, pesticides and filth. :) |
The book didn't really change my opinion either, although I don't eat KFC or Mc D's...but again the one's I eat at aren't good either.
Thanks Pink... I still am pondering the idea. But you hit the nail on the head and that's 'support', that's what I'm really needing and that is the main reason why I came back here. My family is awesome but they don't understand why I find it so hard to lose weight or maintain it when I do lose it. They think it's as easy as snapping my fingers. I quit smoking 3 years ago, I smoked for 13 years, I did it cold turkey! But this is harder, sometimes it's more about an inner struggle not an addiction. Oh well, have a good night ladies!:dizzy: |
Hey Carlie i was just wondering how your doing?
