New Mom needing Buddy

Hi everyone!
I am new here, and wanted to introduce myself. I am 28 years old - and had my first child 3 weeks ago. I was 10 lbs heavier than I wanted to be when I got pregnant, and then gained quite a bit of weight during the pregnancy (40 + lbs). I need to get the weight off - but am struggling with daily life with a newborn and staying true to my diet with limited prep times for food at times. I find that as the weight comes down, I stay motivated to take this extra time even when I am tired and harried :dizzy: . My biggest concern is that I will give up if/when I hit a plateau. I am doing the South Beach Diet. Please let me know if you would like to be my buddy!

Thanks,
Lauren

Congrats on the baby!!!

Hi Lauren! Congrats on the new baby! Being a new mom is in some ways like entering another planet! I am 28 also with two children. My son is almost 4 and my daughter just turned two, so I know all about the new mom stuff :D I too gained alot with my pregnancies. And when I need to brush up, my best friend's son is only 7 weeks old, and I try to see him and babysit whenever possible! I had lost 104 pounds prior to my pregnancies and was surprised with my son!! I gained 70 pounds (I took eating for two to the extreme!!) when he was born, I managed to lose about 30 pds. Then when he was 12 months old, I became pregnant with his sissy and gained 60 pounds (do i ever learn?) I couldn't lose the weight after I had her. Two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary disease and realized that that was contributing to my inability to lose weight. They put me on meds and I have lost four pounds so far :carrot: So I would be happy to be your buddy if you would like. We can compare mom stories and help each other with this weightloss thing!
Sincerely,
Tabitha

HI Hun!! Congrats on becoming a mum!! I had oscar 3 months ago and weight loss has been a nightmare. i was on weight watchers almost straight after the birth and havent lost a pound. so i went to the doctors completely freaking out!! but he reasured me that because your hormones are going wild your body will hold on to weight and fluid for a little while till they carm down. i guess thats it takes longer for some than others. so dont worry to much just stick to it. better to stay the same than to get bigger right. if you are still looking for a buddy i would love to chat.
