Hello everyone... i just joined!!!

Hi everyone! I just joined today and have to say that I am really excited I stumbled upon this webpage. I relocated to a new state away from my friends and due to the quick move I moved in with my brother and father until I can afford to buy my own place. This would seem like a good idea but it is so hard to stay motivated living with two men, especially two men with horrible eating habits and no exercise regime at all.
I am 26, a college professor, and have no idea how much i weigh... probably on purpose. At my biggest I was 360 lbs in graduate school, I am now most likely around 330-340 but obviously no where near where I want to be. I dont really have a goal weight, I just want to be healthy and smaller.
I have always been a big girl... although in high school I was very active. I have a gym membership and found I went 4 or more days during the colder months but now that it is warm out and my brother stopped going with me, I talk myself out of going... even though I really like to exercise.
I dont buy or eat typical "bad" food like chips, ice cream, soda, snack foods, and fast food, but i do tend to undereat when i am at work and overeat at home.
i havent had many opportunities to meet people around my age since i moved so my social life hasnt been as exciting as usual. but, I do enjoy going out, music, movies, cooking (as i come from a large italian family), reading, the beach, you name it, if its fun im there.
I am looking for help or support, anything anyone can offer.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and possibly replying!!!

Welcome to 3FC! I live next door in NY, although I work right on the CT boarder near Greenwich. There are lots of great areas here and tons of support. Please feel free to come over and check out the 300+ section. One of the ways we help keep each other motivated for exercise is we have a monthly tread where we log our minutes together. It really helps to be accountable and to talk to others about what they are going through.

Welcome

Make a date with yourself to go to the gym and stick to that date. It will be nice when your brother can join you at the gym, but make the plan to go alone so that you do not feel depended on your brother as a gym partner.

That is great that you do not eat junk food. Try cutting down your portion sizes and count calories for a few days to make sure you are not eating more than you need to lose. And drink lots of water as part of your get healthy regime.
