Anyone in OH...I need some help please!!

Hi All,

I just moved to Ohio...well I'll just be here for three months on my internship and I need to join a gym ASAP. I'm living in the Brewery District, downtown Columbus and don't have access to a car. I really want to join Bally's as my friends have had some success there in terms of the support they say the trainers offer without any additional charges. I've been trying to find out if COTA (my main transportation while I'm here) passes by any of the two Bally's here. So the point of this post is to see if anyone can help me in terms of suggesting a great affordable (poor college student here :?: ) gym in downtown columbus... already checked out the Arena District Athletic Club really nice but totally out of my budget..or if anyone knows if the buses go to Bally's from downtown (I'll call COTA and ask them on Monday but if neone knows in the mean time please share) I'm really looking for a gym where the trainers help you out.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Do you go to OSU? RPAC is the bomb and it is already included in your tuition. There is also a gym that looks pretty good on S. High right across the street from White Castle's at High and Starr - it's new and looks to be really really nice (small though) so it may be cheap per month. I know for a fact that RPAC has several personal trainers and they shouldn't run too much since they are 'practicing' but I've had nothing but good luck with the ones I've used there.

Best, kitty

Thanks Kitty,

No I'm not an OSU student..just in Ohio for the summer for an internship. I will check out the new gym you suggested though. I also went to the RPAC website and I see you can purchase guest membership so I'll also go and look into that. Thanks again!

Is there a Curves near you? It's cheap - about $39/month - and the workout is 30 minutes, 3x a week. It's easy and quick and I saw definite results in a month. I also like that it's an all-girl place so the machines aren't man-sized.

Me Again

Hi guys,

Just had to thank you both so much for all your help. I just thought I should update you and share the good news. The company I'm doing my internship with has a fitness center with personal trainiers and as an intern I get to use it for free!!! I went on Thursday and met with my *new* trainer and she put together a personalized work out plan for me. I'm starting on Tuesday (the day after the holiday). I'm sooo excited. Thanks again for the suggestion though.

Danielle
