I am new to this website, however, everyone seems really friendly. Can someone let me know what the purpose of a buddy is? I am sure there is a FAQ for it somewhere. There's so much information on this site, it's a little overwhelming (in a good way). :)

Welcome to the boards davinci!!! To answer your question, buddies can serve a varying amount of purposes. People usually want buddies to correspond through PM or emails for accountability and motivation. And some buddies collect together and start their own support group threads in the open forum. It's really up to you what you want to achieve with a buddy. You can request a private buddy or many buddies to start a new support group, although sometimes it is more difficult to get a new support group thread started. Most of them have similar goals and they come up with a theme.

I am new too, not much over a week. I'm here to tell you to stick with it!! I have been soooo motivated and encouraged!.... Buddies are just people that you think you might relate to, or have something in common with, or maybe are just on the same weight-loss plan as. For me having a buddy just seems like a good way to keep me coming back to the site. It gives you a friend and someone to be excited with! If you want to send me a private message and tell me a little about yourself I'd be happy to chat more - maybe we can even be buddies! :)

The site is quite looming at first looming at first but if you just play around you can figure most things out. Always ask if you don't know though and someone out there is bound to have an answer!
