Wanted, new body!

Hi there, after a year of being ill I'm finally fixed and I want to make the most of life. Because I've been ill I've been lazy in the kitchen department, cooking convienient meals or going to the take away.

I've now decided that the whole family has to go on a diet but I personally want to lose around 2 stone.

So..........

Any advice is greatly welcomed, family recipe ideas etc would be fantastic

Look forward to reading your replies

Hi, i struggle so much with diets. i can honestly say. its the hardest thing in my life. i go thru ups and downs all the time with it and can still not manage to last past two weeks. and to be truthful this time around its been 6 weeks. but nearly 4 weeks of that was just eating pure crap. i have lost 12lbs. but there isnt a noticeable difference to me.

so yeah anyways. ill chat with you and help u along the way as i need the support too.

so how much have you to lose?.
what plan do you follow now?
any weaknesses??. like too many chips, fries etc. too much full fat coke.etc?

Hi there,

I hear what you're saying. I've lost count the number of times I've gone on 'fad' diets etc only to end up bigger than I was when I'd started! (And poorer!)

I am 5'10" and this time last year I was 9 stone (too much partying and not enough eating etc) and it made me ill. My periods stopped etc.

Finally, a year later, I'm better, but I put on 3 1/2 st and it's too much. I've decided to get a grip on the situation and loose the extra weight, about 2 stone, before it gets out of control once again (I was once 17st)

I was going to do a detox diet, I bought the book etc, but before I tried it I checked it out on the internet and all the sites I found said it was a bad idea, that you just lose fluid and put it all back on straight away.

So, I'm not following any particular diet, just low fat, plenty of veg and fruit, and drinking tonnes of water. I wish I could exercise but gentle walking is all I can manage at the mo cos I have sciatica.

So? How about you? Are you following a diet plan? 12 lbs sounds good, it's almost a stone!

Where in the UK are you? Do you have kids? Do you work?

what kind of chinese do you like? It's not all bad..... my fave these days is steamed broccoli and grilled chicken in stir fry sauce! Not bad at all. :)

Also, I LOVE the garlic green beans, they are delicious.

also, if you'd like to be buddies feel free to PM me and sorry, I don't know stones...???

Hiya,

I have a really soft spot for cantonese sweet and sour, anything with duck and chow mein. However, I found a really good recipe for prawn chow mein and instead of frying any of it I sauteed it (think that's the right term for it! fried the stuff in a bit of the sauce)

Know any good chick pea recipes? I bought loads of em on my last 'lets eat healthy' bender and I'm determined to use them!

Tracey
