Hi Mamadoodle, How is it going with your elliptical machine? i got one about 6 weeks ago. I love it. Now I am trying to do some strenght training exercises along with my 20 minute ellip. workout. I have a book called the 12 minute a day workout. It instructs different exercises to do on every day of the week. Some use 3 LB weights amd others don't use weights.

I have lost about 20 lbs since Jan. I ahven't been losing lately, but I am happy to just maintain right now. I eventually want to lose another 20 lbas or so. i eat a low carb diet (I hate to call it a diet, I think of it as just my LC way of life).

I would love to hear more about your diet plans. We can encourage each other with our ellip. machines. i have a minimum goal of 3 times per week to use mine. I would like to increase it. I was going to type in an excuse about how busy I am, but I need to stop making excuses.

Just a little about myself, I am 36, married, 2 boys and work fulltime.
Have a great LC day! Sara

Pretty good! I've done it twice so far and each time I've gone 30 minutes, but with mini breaks while doing it! It just kills my legs but I know that it kills them because I am so out of shape! :(

Last year I lost 40 lbs and gained 30 back. Ugh. I'm determined to do it this time!!!

[QUOTE=shushu]Hi Mamadoodle, How is it going with your elliptical machine?

Hi Mamadoodle and Misty, how was your day? I managed to stay on LC for the day, but I am nervous about taking my kinder class on their first fieldtrip tomorrow, so tonight I have been an eating machine. Sticking to LC, but in too high of quantity. At least I am aware of why I want to eat so much tonight. A few years back, I don't think I was so conscious of my eating triggers. With age comes some good things I guess.
I am going to try and exercise in the morning. I have been pretty good about it this week. I have done it everyday. Wow, Mamadoodle I am impressed with your time on the elliptical. 30 minutes a day is great. I am pooped after just 20 minutes. What resistance do you do it at? I don't fully understand my machine yet. It is a Nordic trac 600 something, I think. I have hit the resistance button one time and got a work out that made me sweat. I haven't hit it since, I think I need to be in better shape before I try it again.

Have a great LC day tomorrow. Wish me luck not to lose one of my kiddies tomorrow (haha, actually not so funny, I will probably have a nightmare about it tonight), I will be much more relaxed tomorrow night, can't wait.

Thanks Shushu! LOL I don't even know what "LC" means... low carb? low calorie? But glad it is working for you!!! :) I don't "diet" but just stick with my own healthful plan.

Hi misty, Sorry about the too brief abreviation. When I use LC, I am referring to low carb. LOL I never thought it could sound like low calorie. Low calorie does not work for me, I can't stand to feel hungry. Also like you I don't think of it as a "diet". I just consider it my way of eating healthy. Unfortunately my 5 year old son always says "are you on your diet mom?" when ever I turn down sugary things. For simplicity for him I say yes.

Misti in Seattle 04-27-2006 08:28 AM

LOL oh thanks! I sort of figured you probably meant low carb... I am not a fan of either low carb so don't keep up with all the lingo :) But glad it works for you!
