New from Indiana

Hi everyone,
I'm a new one and could use some support and help :) . I just happened to find this site when I was looking through the search engin. It looks like a great place to start :woo: I am over 50 and need to lose about 50+ lbs. I need to lose that much not only for myself but for health reasons also. So far I am trying to do it on my own with no success.:?: Any ideals? I can use all the help I can get. Thanks

Oh sure we can help and we're very happy to!
What do you like to eat and what kind of activities do you enjoy? Maybe you've already though about some structured eating plan, have you?

You've come to a great place for advice & support!

Congratulations on taking the first step towards a new life:) Once you've decided on an eating plan suitable for you, stick with it. I would like to pass on some very good advice someone gave me when I first started..."don't think of this as a diet, this MUST be a lifestyle change!" You CAN do this!!

All the best to you!

Kim

SusanB- Thank you for your responce. I'm a picky eater. I like chicken, pork, tuna, not a lot of vegies and of course things Im not supose to have or should limit. Dr. says I need to go on a 1200 cal diet. I have PPS(Post Polio Syndrom) which limits activities but I do go to Curves a couple times a week. Any suggestions on diet plans would help. The Dr. did give me a list of things I can have.

JerseyGyrl- Thank you for the advice. I had not thought of it as being a lifestyle change.

Hope you ladies have a Great day. Getting ready to go to Grandson's baseball game.:)

Curves has a great concept there and I'm glad you're going and enjoying it. The next time you're on here have a look at some folks FitDay links, check out the Calorie Counters .... I wonder what happens if you put 1200 calorie diet in a google search?
Remember to post often and ask questions. We like to help.

I put 1200 calorie diet in a google search and the first one I looked at had 1 tsp of brown sugar on the oatmeal! Do you know how much nutrition you coulda snuck in there for that many calories. So disregard that little bit of 'bad' advice I gave.
