1st day on 3FC, 2 Weeks of LAWL

My step-sister told me about this site and this is my first day on! I am 26 and 240 pounds. I have dieted on and off all my life mainly doing whatever my mom was doing at the time. After I moved out on my own, my weight started to balloon and has really gotten bad the last 3 years or so. I have a job where I sit on my butt all day and I am really unmotivated to exercise any other time. My whole family is on LAWL now and everyone is doing well even though we all have different goals. I am only 5'2 so the weight has nowhere to go when I gain and I am sick of buying bigger pants! My goal is to lose 100 punds and I am excited to do it. I have been doing this for about 2 weeks and I have lost 11 pounds. I know if I just walked my dog every afternoon instead of just taking him to use the bathroom I would lose it a little faster but again, I am unmotivated. I am trying to get motivated but always seem to find excuses. What motivates everyone to exersice or how do you hype yourself up for it?

Hi Alison! I'm glad you're taking steps to make life better for yourself, and joining 3FC and losing those 11 pounds are fantastic!

Motivation is a really hot topic here. I think most people have to just realize that they are not going to feel excited about hopping out of bed to work out, but just need to keep doing it anyway. My "motivation" is HABIT. Just get in the groove of it, make it part of your daily life, and then you won't even have to question whether or not you'll go for that walk today.

Welcome, and I can't wait to hear all about your successes!

Congrats! It took me two months (I didn't lose in the first month... so 1 month really) to lose 11 pounds!
