Hi there.
I've got some food issues that are linked to the fact that I also a recovering alcoholic. It turns out that once I got sober I traded one addiction for another, and now I turn to food for comfort. I'm not all that overweight, but I'm terribly unhappy with my body and I want to change it. I've tried all the fad/crash diets and other unhealthy solutions, and all I've gotten in return is more confused about how to take care of myself...not to mention gaining all the weight back quickly.
SO that's why I'm here. I'm so glad there's places like this where people can come and not feel ashamed. I'm looking forward to becoming part of this community.
If you ever wanna chat sometime I am all ears. I myself am not a recovering alcoholic but my mother is. In fact she takes her one year this month! I spent a week at her treatment center for a group for myself learning about addictions and such. I know I have a bit of an addictive personality myself (perhaps why I too am overweight?) - I have a lot of weight to lose but I am ready to do it. Anyway - send me a message whenever you like!

You sure came to the right place, Bees. I am pretty new here myself, but this isn't like other boards where they ignore the newbies for a year or so...They jump right in and help immediately and are sooooooo supportive. This board has saved me about 3 billion calories since I signed up a month or so ago! Welcome!
LOL mudbugs.... there are a LOT of calories and fat cells out there in cyberspace somewhere because of this forum!!! We just have to keep moving together so we don't let any of them catch up with us and try to settle back in.
