Teen girl, appx 153, seeks buddy to lost last 20 pounds!
Hi everyone! I am 15 years old and I love being active. The downside: I also love to eat. I had maintained a healthyish 143 for four years, but this past Christmas, let loose and gained 10 pounds. Now I can't get rid of anything.
Would anybody be interested in being my buddy...I am desparate to be slim, fit, and strong and determined to be the fasted girl on my high school lacrosse team. I am tired to having a tire around my midsection slowing me down!
Let me know....and good luck achieving all of YOUR goals too!
Thanks,
~Lesley~

I feel your pain. I used to run track in high school. I am now a college sophomore, weigh around 145 lbs, and want to get to my high school weight of around 120. Oh, and I am 5'5". I would also love to have a buddy to keep me motivated and away from the junk food. Let me know how you're doing! I don't know if I want to give out my e-mail just yet, so maybe we could have a buddy thread on here? Let me know what you think. Keep going strong.

Yeah, I'd love to do a buddy thread. I just joined today, so I'm not really sure where to post buddy threads, so if you tell me, I'd be really interested in doing that. Thanks so much! Time to lose that weight...finally!!

How about we just use this current thread to post our progress or vent when we need to? How about, each morning, we will write down our weight and, later on in the day, report on what we've eaten and our work outs? And if you want any tips, I know tons about nutrition, hence the name health nut...too bad I'm not determined enough to use it to my advantage...oh joy...lol, keep up the good work and keep me posted.
Alex

Okay...sounds good! This morning I was 152, which is down one pound...I love nutrition as well, and I'm usually pretty good about eating well, until I get home from lacrosse after school and all I want to do is eat junk food. What do you do when you get home to avoid overeating?
Anyways, just curious, are you majoring in nutrition or anything? What do you want to do after college? I love health (always had a secret desire to be a personal trainer but I don't fit the stereotype) and am really into fitness and stuff.
I hope that you eat well today and the rest of this weekend! I am going to try to avoid my pantry now! Good luck Alex!

Sorry I didn't reply yesterday, was really busy. My weight today is 147.5. I don't know what's wrong. I haven't eaten any junk food yesterday. I worked out for like 2 hrs and I gained 2 pounds! Anyway, about my major, I am actually a chemical engineer with a minor in French, but I just love nutrition. What do I do not to overeat? Hmmm...nothing I am just as bad with that as any other college freshman. So, we should definitely think of ways not to overeat. What is your typical day of eating?
Good luck, Alex

Hi guys, I am so glad you guys are trying to keep your weight under tabs. I know so many people probably think well you guys are not that overweight but it is important to not let it get out of control. When i was your age i probably weighed about the same and i did nothing about it and now i am 34 and around 200 pounds. It is awesome that you are working on it now and keeping it under wraps. Good luck and i know you will reach your goals. It is best to do it now when you only have 10 pounds to lose rather not let it escalate to a bigger problem.

Hey guys
I'm also a soph. in college. I currently weigh around 153 and my highest weight was 171 about 9 months ago. I really want to get the last 23 pounds off by the beginning of my junior year in the fall(or sooner if possible). I've been doing pretty good this past month (I joined a fitness program at our rec center), and I want to keep it up during spring break.
Unlike you guys, I was pretty chubby in high school, and I'm trying to get down to a weight that I was in MIDDLE school (135 or so). It feels like it's taking forever!

Eggers, good job on your weight loss so far! That is very inspiring. What specifically are you having trouble with in losing weight? I know I eat a lot of junk food generally and don't drink nearly enough water. It's all gonna change.
Today's weigh in: 142 lbs (what the crap, went down 5 lbs in just one day?)
Exercise: Treadmill alternating between 3.5 mph and 4 mph for five minutes each for an hour. Calories burned: around 250
Bought my first pilates DVD and I love it. I've never done it before so it's an awesome and pretty challenging way to get in shape. Pilates abs + butt with Amy Brown.
Good luck everyone,
Alex

Great job Alex...holy cow, I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep up! I have decided to try Jenny Craig to just get rid of this excess weight once and for all...I hope it works. I'm sorry that I don't post every day, I find it hard to fit it in. But great job getting down five pounds...
Eggers, join our "club"! I am still in high school (sophomore) but have always been chubby like you said. I have been around the same weight since I was 11. You'd think I'd be able to get rid of it by now...
Good job guys...keep up the good work...btw, do either of you have an elliptical machine? I used to run on the treadmill everyday but my joints can't handle it anymore. Trying to find an alternative.
Alex, je parle en francais un peu, mais pas tres bien. C'est plus cool!
Salut!

Gigi,
You are more than welcome to help us out! We most definitely need that. So, how about we post what we think we'll eat throughout the day, what we weigh each day (if that's a possibility) and what our goals are.
Today's weigh in: 142 lbs
Exercise (yesterday): 1 hr on the treadmill, 30 min. on the elliptical
Food (hopefully):
-B/L: Chicken breast in almonds, veggies
-D: Strawberry shake with protein powder
-Snacks: carrots and cauliflower, maybe some sugar free life savers
Lesley, the elliptical is excellent for achy joints. You will not feel a thing!
Good luck everyone, keep up the good work. Alex
P.S. Please post any suggestions you may have to lose the weight. Right now I am trying this lower carb, higher protein idea. We'll see how it turns out. Lesley, lol, that 5 lbs is probably just water weight.
