New girl

Hi! I am a 23 year old student (about to graduate). I need to lose a lot of weight. I would be happy with 100lbs but to be healthy I should lose 125-150 lbs. I should be watching my weight and what I eat but I love to eat!! I need a buddy. I have no particular diet. COuld someone help me decide?

Hi, Jennifer, welcome. I don't really have any wisdom to share, as I am new too, except to make sure you choose a diet that you can stick with for the long run. However, I can tell you where I got my inspiration to try: pastaqueen.com. Try to read her posts from the beginning, they are very inspirational.

And of course this site. You will get lots of encouragement.

Jenn,

Welcome. The best diet is one you can stick with, I am using a calorie counting (Calorie Queens) system. I love carbs too much to stick with Atkins and South Beach. I also developed gestational diabetes, and had a family history of type2, and six months after he was born I developed type2. I hope you enjoy it here, I have found support and good advice here.

Again welcome

Terina

Hey girl! I'm so glad to see you on here. I just had my diabetes test done and thank God it was not an issue for me. But I'm still working my hiney off to make sure it dosen't become one. My weigh in is tomorrow and this hasn't been a good week. I'm forecasting a gain of 1-3 lbs for tomorrow. Wish me good thoughts! And you know I'll be a buddy girl! I miss you!

Hi Jennifer

Welcome and good luck on your weight loss.
Please keep in mind that tomorrow if you do weigh in and find that you gained, don't give up. You can do it. You have found a great place for support. I find that reading through a lot of the posts here motivates me. Some of the sucess stories that you will read are incredible.
Hang in there.

Thank you everyone. I don't plan on weighing in tomorrow. I don't have a scale at home. I plan on buying a scale and going from there. It is so great to have so many people rooting for you. I need alot of motivation. I am trying to keep myself motivated and being good.
