3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community

I'm looking forward to making a few friends here on the site who can share the struggles of our weight loss journey.

Name: Teresa
Age: 43 (44 on March 5!)

Location: Louisiana

Family: Married to a wonderful man for 5 years, 3 adorable children from a previous marriage, ages 18, 14, 12. We have a D/s marriage, if that means anything to anyone.

Weight Issues: Just starting my weight loss journey at 330 lbs, 5'9" tall. Considered WLS until I found that this was excluded under my current insurance policy, so I'm back to the "old fashioned" way of weight loss, which will probably be better for me in the long run. I have health issues at work, high blood pressure, severe edema, arthritis, shortness of breath.

Political Affiliation: For many years I was a staunch Republican, but watching Bush, Jr. has corrupted me...I hold my nose and vote Democrat.

Religious Affiliation: None really, although I was raised Southern Baptist.

Books: A subject dear to my heart! I adore children's literature in the vein of C.S. Lewis (before the Disney movie made him popular again!), Madeline L'Engle, and (I'll admit it) J.K. Rowling. I also love To Kill A Mockingbird, The Once and Future King, Les Miserables, Watership Down, The Outlander Series (Diana Gabaldon) and many others.

Music: Very diverse. The Joker by Steely Dan, Anything by the Eagles or Bee Gees, For You by John Denver, Pachebel's Cannon, Basket Case by Green Day, High of 75 by Relient K.

Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Return to Me, When Harry Met Sally, Braveheart, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Sense & Sensibility, Love Actually
