I would like a buddy

  • I'm new to 3fatchicks (Just registered today).

    I was 296 lbs. on the beginning of my diet, I am about 240, now, I want to be 125 lbs. I am 18 years old and I have been dieting off and on for about a 1 1/2 years. It was off and on because I couldn't take anymore. lol. But I want to be able to feel good about myself, so I'm back on the diet. I am drinking ALOT of water and I am writing all calories and fat grams, ect. in a food journal. I also put down my exersize activities in there, so I could look back and make sure I was exersizing enough. On the beginning of the diet, I could only carry 5 lb. weights, but now I can carry 20 lb. weights.

    Anyway, I would like a buddy who I can email and ask if a certain food is good for weight loss; For exsample If I am not sure of the food I want to buy is healthy, I can just email my buddy first and my buddy can email me back. I might even ask for tips of excersising and eating right. I am also on a 1100 cal diet, but am thinking of cutting 100 calories off the diet; Is it safe to not eat as much as I am right now??

  • Welcome to 3FC Alisa!! I see you've lost 56 pounds so far! Way to go! Exercise and food logging is a great thing to do to keep you accountable! I'd love to be your buddy. We're around the same age, but I only have about 20 more pounds to lose. Have you checked out Fitday.com? You should be able to find nutritional information for a lot of foods there.

    As for the 1100 calorie diet, I would read this thread on "Starvation Mode". It has a lot of interesting points. As one person stated, you have to tinker and tinker until you find out what works for you!
  • Ithink that u may not be eating enough calories i started out at 341 a month ago an i am now 328 wtg me but i can eat 2300 calories an still lose 1-2 pounds a week which i have trouble eating all of them but i do get at least 1800 a day so maybe you should check out how many calories for your weight an height if u eat less than u should u will go in to starvation mode an not lose any. I think you said you are 240 which is way less that me but i think you shouls stll be eating more than 1100 a day .I also have a question does any one no how many fat grams that should be eaten in a day an should i only reallt watch my saturated fat or should i watch total fat .fat is so confusing to me

    oops, didn't see your post. lol.

    My height is 5'5. Does that mean I need to eat more, or is it okay?
