Newbie!

  • Hey Everyone! Im new to the site. I thought I should introduce myself, so here it goes :P. When I was a kid I was seriously like bone skinny, but I'd eat everything. My mom always told me that it would catch up to me and when I was about 11, that happened. I was overweight ever since then, slowly packing on more weight. One year when I was 14 my mom and I went to weight watchers together and I remember how excited I was when I got to 190 pounds. Since then I've gained it back (Ahhh). I really want to get serious about weight loss. I started my diet on January 1st, and I've lost 7 pounds so far. I can't even tell a difference though. Basically I'm just doing a vegan diet. I'm also excersizing for 30-45 minutes a day minimum.

My motivation is pretty much to get healthy and confident in myself, when I look in the mirror. I don't want to feel like the "chubby one" anymore. I want to look in the mirror and see me for who I am, someone that God made beautiful . Beyond losing weight I also want to gain self esteem. Along this journy I want to learn to love myself inside and outside. I want to realize that there IS more to life than a # on a scale!

In July I'm getting married. That of course is a ton of extra motivation. I want to look and feel my best on my wedding day and night.

Through this site I hope to make friends going through the same thing I am. Im ready to change!

  • Welcome to the site!! I'm new here too!!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! I'm sure that will keep you motivated and then by the time you're married your new healthy lifestyle will be a way of life.

I turn 40 this year and that is my motivation -- I've been married for 16 years and have two boys -- I've never been rail thin, but I've never been as big as I was when I started trying to live healthier about 6 weeks ago.

Its a definite journey, but one I am sure we will both make successfully!!

    Good luck to you!!

    Happy Wedding, Happy Life!
