I know after Monday I have got to lose weight
 

Hi, I just joined this group today because tomorrow I will be having a heart cath. and possible heart surgery. I am 272 and only 5'5" I have got a lot to loose. I am married and my husband tells me all the time I need to lose weight but he won't help. He says he isn't the one who has to lose weight and when I say I am going to because of past failed attempts he just says "yeah right" I feel so discouraged and I think I will definitely need a buddy. Is anyone willing?

I am sorry to hear that you do not have more support at home.

I hope you will find this board as helpful and informative as I have, and that you will find more buddies than you know what to do with!

I am sorry about the lack of help and support at home, but you will find a bunch of support and help here. I typically check in everyday (at least once so feel free to pm me).

I made a decision at the begining of the year that I would take care of myself and make the choice that are best for me. I no longer am the ones buying the snacks I do not want to eat, but eat when they are around. It took a few years to make the stand, but he is fine with it. If he wants something I do not buy he will stop at the store. He may ask me to pick something up and I will, but I tell him I am buying the smallest bag of chips (or whatever) so there are no leftovers. Making the dinners are a bit harder, because he always says he is hungry a couple hours later. I just remind himif he wants more to eat he can make it himself.

Show your DH that you can do this ALONE... But guess what he doesn't know, you WON'T be alone you'll have ALL of US helping you along your journey...
