I am also new to this board, as of today! I am 54, and I need to start over for about the 100th time! I am a lifetime member of Weight Watchers, but I just can't get motivated anymore to lose the 60-70 pounds I need to lose. I need to find a diet where I don't have to cook much. I am a teacher and very involved with after school activities, and my husband does not have to worry about losting weight (naturally)! So we just grab a bite here and there. I need to find something I can do to fit our lifestyle.
Can anyone help me? Thanks, Pamelateach5 |
Hey PamelaTeach5, welcome... Don't I know about turning over a new leaf... I have a huge leaf collection I'm about ready to burn... :dizzy:
Seriously tho... I have been on just about every diet plan known to human kind... *I even tried the "Three Day Terror Diet" which screwed up my metabolism something terrible!!! & the one where you eat 8 bannanas in a single day... losing only to gain that & more back!!!!!!!!!!!! I know too about not having time... I work 46 or more hours a week.... Jenny Craig gives you prepared food to eat... so you don't have to worry about what you eat... but I'm not sure how it works if you eat out a lot!!! This time around, I'm doing the points thing again... I bought the "WW Shortcut cookbook..." all meals & lunches are easy & fast *30 min or less... which fits into my fast paced lifestyle... I also appreciate the resturant point counter for when I have to grab something because there isn't time for 30 minutes before I inhale the world!!!! I usually pack my Breakfast *I just can't eat their breakfasts... donuts, breakfast pizzas, or rich pastries!!!!) & lunches 3 days out of the 5... One day out of the week I will buy with everyone else... & the other the company cooks for us... the works complete with ooie gooie deserts... :o *thank goodness for flex points!!! What I've found is that if I take a snack with me to work (I've been carrying milk & a 2 point serving of cookies - or something like that) If I eat my snack around 3:30 or 4pm... that I can wait til I get home about 6 to cook & I am comfortable til it's ready to serve at 6:30.... Sounds like you need a snack for your after hours activities... before y'all go out to eat. I know there is something good for you to eat just about anywhere you want to go to eat these days... Good luck to you!!! Let us know your updates!!! MJ : > |
Good Morning ...
Do you mind if I join your thread? I am 53 and have about 80 lbs to lose. I am a WW Lifetimer and am doing WW Online/On-the-Go -- again! I am really tired of being fat and want to feel healthy again. An added bonus to losing this weight -- to shop the normal sizes and not skulk incognito :dizzy: towards the Plus or Women's Dept :). I keep thinking that if I just lose 1 lb a week, that would be 52 lbs in a year. I am realistic as far as the time frame is concerend -- it's not going to happen overnight and it has to be a way of life from now on and not just a "diet." I just need to keep focused and watch my portions -- I also need to try not to eat the whole meal :o while I am cooking! No wonder my guys are getting skinny. PamelaTeach, I do like WW On the Go for my Palm because I can take all the lists of foods/restaurant choices/point calc with me when we decide to eat out. I can empathise with you because my husband and I eat out quite a bit, and it's tough (especially when they DO NOT have a weight problem). Christine, congratulations on your upcoming wedding!! My daughter celebrated her 1st anniversary last summer so I know how excited you are. It does seem like yesterday that we were planning the whole thing. Someone mentioned lite cool whip in coffee -- I am intrigued and just never thought of that before. And, yes, I do love -- and NEED -- my coffee in the morning. :coffee2: Definitely going to try that! Looks like it has stopped snowing so I think I will be getting some exercise snowblowing and shoveling. I like being out in the snow so I am not complaining. Thank you for starting this thread, and I hope we all reach our goals no matter what they may be. We certainly do owe it to ourselves! Terry |
Hi all I really enjoyed how real everyone is. I joined yesterday but just got going today. I am 41yrs 5'2 and have 70 lbs to lose. I have lost 5 lbs in 6 days on the LA weightloss program. I did exercise yesterday and my body is in shock today LOL.
We can all do this. One lb at a time. Have a great week! Wendyinnm |
Hi, I've been reading forever but never have posted before. I am 57 and would be happy to lose 30 lbs at this point. Have tried most of the diets out there but these days I am just not as motivated to stick with them. I do not wish to buy a new wardrobe, am terribly uncomfortable and not too happy about the fact that I have a larger waist than my husband. I put a 5 pound bag of flour on the counter a couple of weeks ago, would pick it up and think how heavy it felt however it went back into the cabinet a few days ago. I work out 4 days a week for an hour so I am not totally out of control. I am having knee issues, have arthritis and know that it would help if I lost some weight but just can't seem to get motivated, am hoping that maybe if I get involved in something like this I would have some accountibility to someone. Weight watchers didn't seem to do it, well the first time it worked but not the last. Thanks for listening

Terry,
Thanks for the words of support. I go back to WW tomorrow night. I'm trying to get focused and make my attitude positive!!! This will be my first time back in a long while, so there will NOT be any weight loss and I'm sure some weight gain. But come Wednesday morning I will be on the program. I keep you posted as to how I do. Thanks, Pam |
