New to the board!
 

I saw the link to this forum on the weddingchat forum and I thought I'd check it out. It's full of awesome info..I'm so glad I took the time to come visit! Now I'm hooked :)

My name is Melissa, and I've been on my journey to better health for over a year now, although the weight loss didn't actually start until July.

In September of 2004 I decided to have gastric bypass surgery at the University of Chicago Hospital. However, it was a huge undertaking to get the insurance approval but on July 18, 2005, I was finally able to have my surgery.

It has been 5 months since surgery and so far I have lost 75 pounds. I am feeling great, eating much, much healthier...and I have so much more energy! I am glad to be a part of this group and I look forward to learning something from each of you.
