Hello. Heh.

My name is Gina :) I'm 18 years old & I'm from Lynn, Massachusetts. Uh.. and I have quite a bit of weight to lose =P Currently working on the first 15 though.

I've been trying to lose weight for a few years now.. I can never seem to stick to it. I had actually given up on losing weight for good.. and then about a week later I stumbled across this place. So thank you for giving me my hope back. :)

I would love to have the weight gone by the time I'm 20 (oct 2007). I feel I've let it take over my life long enough. I haven't had an offline friend since I was about 14. .. haven't really left my house either. I would love to start my life.. just can't seem to allow myself because of my weight. I'm sure that sounds bad but.. eh I can't help it. I want to be able to enjoy my life the way I want it.

I would love some buddies =)

Hello Gina, Congradulations on taking the first step! Welcome to 3FC, you'll find loads of support and interesting threads you can join.
Probably the first thing you need to do is find a diet that you can stick to, and an exercise routine, probably 30 min / 3 times a week would be a good start :)
Weigh yourself once a week. Keep a log of your weight-loss to stay motivated. You could also take measurments!
Set acheivable goals for yourself and give yourself rewards when you get there :)
If you need any help you could always post a thread, or PM me :)
Good luck :cheer:

Thank you :) I'm a little shy so I haven't post anything else yet. Been doing a lot of reading.

Thank you for the welcome and the suggestions :)

Hey Gina! My name is Jen and I'm 18, too. Your story sounds just like mine. Dieting has always failed for me. I think the most I have ever lost was 20 pounds. Of course I gained it back lol. :) Anyways, if you need anyone to talk to, or you feel like you need a friend, I'm always here!
Good Luck!!

Hello Jen :) 20 pounds is pretty good. That's actually about the most I've ever lost myself.

A friend (friends :P) would be wonderful. You're more than welcomed to contact me any way you'd like.
