Default Just new to the site too

I'm just trying to get a program ready to start the New Year. Every year I say I going to lose weight and I have still done nothing about it. So this year I trying to get a jump start so I can stick with my resolution to lose weight and get healthier.

Default I am new too!!

I just found this site the other day. I am contemplating gastric bypass and have been really researching it. I think my decision is to really really try one more time to lose weight and if this doesn't work I will have the surgery. I think I am going to try LA Weight Loss. I know that LA works if you have the will power and desire to stick to their program. I tried it about 5 yrs ago and lost like 25 lbs. However, work and life got too stressful and I started eating like a pig again and gained it back plus some. The key is obvious. Commit to a lifestyle of healthy eating and stop indulging in crappy fast food and tons of chocolate. Anyway. Hope to talk to someone soon.

Hi trixie, I think you should give it one more try. I was 253 lbs and desperate, I thought that there was no way I'm gonna lose weight and decided that I'll probably be fat, maybe even fatter for the rest of my life, I had PCOS and was gaining weight at aprox 2lbs a week!. Until one day, I was reading a book, and the author wrote this " I don't want to be lifted by a crane from my house and taken to a hospital" and thats when something in me just clicked!
I had nothing to loose so I started counting calories to lose weight, and walked with a group of friends, now I'm 214 and I'm still loosing
Whenever I mess up or feel like I'm giving up, I just go back to that book and read that line. I imagine myself being hoisted up by a crane through a hole in the wall with all the neighborhood standing outside my house gaping at me. Now there is no way that I'll ever think about going through surgery to lose weight, I know I can do it and I'm sure that you can!
I'm doing WW right now because it allows you to eat practically anything you want as long as you stick to your points limit. I do it online because I hate the group meetings. Its also motivating to keep a food and exercise journal and keep track of my weightloss. When you mess up you can always go back to your journal and get inspired. I can be your buddy if you like, pm me

Wow so many newcomers in one thread I wanna say welcome to all of you!!!

Chelle: there's no way that you need pills or anything to lose weight!! Just go old support and motivation!!

h2o: I highly doubt that there is ANY insults or bad words between anyone here! Everyone here is so supportive and caring that it's like we're all family. Well, the kind that gets along and are supportive! haha

Deni: It's smart of you to start earlier rather than later! Do you have any plans for when you do start or are you still taking it in to better build one up?

Trixie: I would definately throw the surgery out of mind for now and focus on losing it the good old fashion way! There are plenty of people (heavier than you) that have lost it without the surgery! You can do it too!! Just stick with it, find something you love to do, and don't think of it as a diet!!!! You'll do great!

So yea.. welcome everyone! hehe
