New thread for college girls...

Hey ladies.

I did not see a new thread for those 'serious" college girls/girls looking to lose 10 pounds by xmas...so i decided to start this up!

Hope everyone is still up for the challege...its getting close but with each others support we can pull through!!!!

this week has been a tiny bit more flexible b/c I am visiting the bf ( he is on Vaction)...we have gone out to each a few times...but I try to make good choices...aside from the coffee and baileys...lol... oh well

hope everyone is doing well!

Eggers 12-09-2005 04:17 PM

crazysexycool 12-09-2005 04:35 PM

i am up for the challenge :) I'm also a college student.... good luck ladies

Miggles 12-10-2005 04:35 PM

Just what i was looking for! Im a student of animation (which means lots of sitting/standing to drawing, and not much moving). Id never been in a building with a vending machine before, so the freshman 15 whooped my butt. Anyway ive gotten over the novelty now, and im eating a lot healthier, and trying to do little things to exercise, but i keep gaining and loosing 5 lbs.. Urgh. I weigh 133ish right now and id love to weigh in around 120, though perhaps not by xmas! Im flexable.. Hopefully in the next month i'll be taking up yoga (hey my boyfriend wants me to do kung fu, but its a little too intensive for me right now.. maybe one day). So yes! best of luck to the gals watching this thread! I hope more people post!

It is finals week at my university, i'm sure it is by you guys too. The big challenge is that since there is nothing to do but study all day long, and that is sooo boring, all I want to do is just eat and then go out at night and get drunk. It is definitely a challenge... especially since all of my roommates are drinking like fish and ordering pizza all of the time.

fitgal2 12-12-2005 10:33 AM

Hey Ladies... gald to hear you are all still trying to stay on track

I fell off this weekend, but am back on today...I hated finals, I always ate! But i learned last year to packl LOTS of veggies and go to the library (away from the roomies who eat/drink)...Good luck to all of you!!!!

Miggles 12-13-2005 03:26 PM

Oh dear god! will the christmas season never end! >.< 3 days in, and im not doin so well :P Me and mah man have been indulging a lot because its the last week of school, and he's leaving for three weeks on sunday. Needless to say, there is nothing in his appartment to eat, so we've been ordering in or eating out so that there wont be any food to spoil while he's away! Friday night is the christmas party at my school. Wish me luck. Good thing i dont like egg nog...

fitgal2 12-13-2005 11:30 PM

Man I hear ya!!! I am not doing so well over her either!!!
My mommy and I baked cookies last night and well I have eaten tons!!!! I did how ever make a modified batch (ww flour, egg beaters etc) but am I eating them...nope!:tantrum: anyway I am planning to be extra good for the rest of the week:stress: , I think I will put the cookies out of my sight *out of sight out of mind right!!??!!*

hope the rest of you are doing better than me!!!!

Gitterdone 12-14-2005 07:28 PM

I'm slacking, but still serious about trying. I'm so busy with work right now (retail supervisor...you get the pic) that I hardly have time for anything. School is done for a month which is good, but my job is stressing me out.

I haven't been doing good at all, but today I stepped on the scale, and I didn't gain any back. Infact, I'm actually lost a half a pound. Thats incentive to get back on track!

What are the plans to stay on track during the holidays??????

:p Trish

Miggles 12-17-2005 01:38 PM

Ha! My plan for the holiday... Well ive decided it starts tomorrow after mah boyfriend leaves! I plan on building a portfolio to get an internship over the summer, so ill probably be closeted in the house a lot to draw, so im going to stock up on healthy groceries, and try not to venture too near the corner store! Lots of fruits, and home cooked food (which we all know is healthier than processed food :P) I might pre plan my meals just so its easier to stay on track, and when you make food ahead of time, its so convenient you've got to eat it! Exercise wise, I hope to take up hot yoga (yoga done in high temperatures- not a sauna- because its better for the muscles, and makes you sweat!) And i also might learn to swim! Yay! It helps when your friends are swimming instructers ;) Also planning on doing simple exercises at home like situps and push ups every second day ... Gonna suprise my lovely man when he gets back! Woot!

Miggles 12-17-2005 01:40 PM

Oh yea, and christmas dinner? Forget it. Ill eat healthy for the day and to **** with it for one meal :P Happily the dinner isnt being hosted at my house, so i get to go up and visit my mum, and she can dole out the leftovers to other people ;)

fitgal2 12-18-2005 07:59 PM

Good plan miggles.

I have had 3 christmas parties already...so far not doing so hot...BUT, I compensate during the week by eating more veggies/fruit/salad etc...I find that if I am extra good that I can treat myself at the parties, I have found that I have not gotten into the treats as badly as I thought I would... I have not gained any weight so it seems to be working...not exactly what I had planned, but as long as I don't gain...I will be happy...

angeleyezx 12-19-2005 04:18 AM

Wow, I wish I got to this thread sooner to join in!

Miggles 12-19-2005 09:54 AM

Baft! Never too late to join.. as things go we've hardly started as it is! Anyway can feel free to post, at any time! It'd be boring if they didnt ;)

So! The man is gone... *WEEP!* lol i miss em already. I got up with him at 6 in the morning and went alllllll the way to the airport (which is always far, no matter where you are!) and we didnt have time to eat breakfast. We were going to eat together at the airport but the woman at the ticket counter said that after she taged his bag he had to go through american customs immediatly :| So sadly we had to say goodbye there. And so i started the 2 and a half hour subway ride home :P and i was SO hungry i stopped at the corner store and bought frozen waffles and hot chocolate. UGH! New rule, never go shopping on an empty stomach, and never travel on an empty stomach!!!!..... on the up hand the waffles are really good. And my sister eats them too :P Its gonna be soooooo hard to kick this, because my dad keeps bringing home chocolate because he found an uber expensive place (they do things like cocoa with chili peppers in it). So yes. Thwarted. Again :P I think i might have gone back up to 135, but my scale is unreliable... Hey and it could be water weight.....right?.....

Goodstuff fitgal! I tried to go for the veggie plates at the school christmas party but.... they didnt have any. I had like, three peices of mushy sushi but we ate before we came, which was a great idea. Although the rest of that day was bad! We were at the zoo sketching animals and there is only one restraunt there - Harveys. I dunno if you have it there, but its a burger joint. Now, i eat burgers maybe three times a year, so this isnt so bad, but the thing is - over the holiday i plan on going to the zoo more often to keep my life drawing up! Time to buy more tupperware i guess. Anyways i did actually go to the party after party, but it was an unplanned party in a Tiiiiiiiiny teeny little bachelor pad. I dont think i could live in one of those :P It would just be a minature wasteland of my clothing and papers. Hehe! Walls are essencial for containment for me! Anyways enough rambling! Ta for now!

fitgal2 12-20-2005 12:51 PM

Hey!!
Miggles~~That is a great idea to eat before parties...I did that on Sat and didnt eat as much as I thought...

Oh and yup we have Harvey's...I LOVE THEIR VEGGIE BURGERS!!!!!!! At least it not McD's at the Zoo, Harvey's I think is the healthiest of burger joints (they actually have good grilled chicken...)
Practicing your life drawings is aperfect way to occupy yourself during the food filled holidays!!! I use to draw in highschool, but have not done much since...kinda sad really...I was not too bad at it...but sucked at drawing people haha...oh well...I have since gotten in to photography...its so relaxing...lol
well I should stop chattering...later girlies!

Miggles 12-21-2005 12:24 PM

Drawing is fun! I took a long walk to the art store to get myself some watercolour paper (background painting! whee!) And i even passes a McDonald's with my nose in the air. Wah ha! And funny you should mention that because it used to be McDonald's at the zoo :halffull:
Anyways after my walk i came back and hopped on the scale and BOOYEA! I didn't gain weight after all! I so lost weight! lol! 2 lbs! And now i will have hot apple cider. Woot! :carrot: (yes everyone uses this carrot, but its bloody hallarious!)

Miggles 12-22-2005 07:46 PM

I was so pleased with the dinner im about to eat, that i doodled it (and my corn got cold). Whee! I was feeling reaaaaaaally lazy and didnt want to cook, and we'd just gotten a whole whack of veggies and fruits. So Meh, i though. And i cut my veg for two whole minutes and came up with : My Dinner.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...iry/Dinner.jpg

* please note, i didnt not eat a farmer. And i swear to god this is not the extent of my talent. And that splat is Baba Gahnouj, if it can't be read!
** I also fought a hobo for my quarter to get a shopping cart. Just kidding!:dizzy:

Jewelbird 12-22-2005 11:59 PM

Well, this semester I have certainly gotten off track. This summer when I lived in FL, I watched what I ate and ran 3 miles each evening. Then after moving back to NC, working 25 hrs a week, and carrying a full load in school, my diet and exercise fell to the bottom of my list. Therefore, since I have a month break, I am determined to get back into shape and get back down to my orginal weight of 130! :)

Thanks for the motivation...

freakshow 12-23-2005 01:47 AM

Oh, if only I'd seen this sooner! It would've inspired me! I'm a female college student and it would've been great to lose 10 pounds by the holidays, especially since a lot of weight is gained around this time.

PS: I haven't been to these boards since May '05! I just found the link in my favourites and had to go through the little process of figuring out the password/username again. Hahaha. Hopefully I'll stick around longer. I just updated my ticker. Eep.

Miggles 12-23-2005 09:59 AM

Hey its never too late to be inspired and start something... I mean i've been inspired and restarted dieting sooooo many times since this board started... Just give it a whirl! If anyone falls off you can always buck up and start again. Im planning on carrying my diet over into the school year - it will be harder, but with tupper ware hopefully it'll work out better than last time! Ha!
Anyway you found us now and said something so now you HAVE to post. lol I got all excited that new people might be joining... :hyper:
By the way - that monkey, totally kicks ***!

fitgal2 12-23-2005 04:31 PM

fitgal2 12-25-2005 12:08 AM

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!:tree: :present:

Miggles 12-25-2005 09:54 AM

Woot! Merry things! My family is all meeting up at my Mum's house this afternoon for turkey dinner, and this morning i was weighing in at fractionally less than 130 lbs.. WOooooooo! We'll see how much i pack on by the end of the day though :P My sister has put her pastry cheffing skill to use and has made an apple custard tart. 0_o sounds potent. And who am i to deny grave twice a year.. *chuckles* (poutine is evil and should not be served at family restraunts, im telling you :P ). SO yes. One afternoon off track but i think i'll be okay tomorrow! This morning im eating a fantastic portion of cantaloupe so the day is off to a good start! Now for breakfast part two! Cheery bye for now, and i hope everyone does well over the next few days! Something tells me Santa might bring me chocolate like he does every year *weep* he's so good to me... lol! Take care and I look forward to hearing about everyone's weekend!

angeleyezx 12-25-2005 10:09 AM

omg its 3pm and the Queens speach has finished and Ive just eaten the best biggest meal evaar!

Miggles 12-26-2005 10:51 AM

Well! That wasn't so bad! I woke up fairly close to the time we were supposed to leave for my mum's house, so i didnt really get breakfast for lunch, but i snacked on the stuff my mum put in my stocking (clementines, nuts and gingerbread - with chocolate), so that really wasnt so bad :P She also gave me a small bottle of Bailey's... which proves that after several years of choosing not to drink, she still doesnt realised i dont like the taste of alchohol... *chuckles* oh well.. it was the thought that counts! Anyways I did have a slightly massive plate of turkey and the whole speil, because i was HUNGRY! I also had a tiny slice of apple custard tart that my sister made (i was obligated to eat it!) and some icecream which chocolate swirls, which i can never resist. But i came home without a scrap of leftover! Horray!
I hopped on the scale this morning and im still 130, which is a good sign - and now for some cantaloupe! I hope everyoen else had a fine time and enjoyed one day of slight guilt free indulgance! ;) tootles for now!

Miggles 12-27-2005 04:48 PM

Okay okay.. so i think im starting to fall off track.. lol! I touched bases with some people i knew in grade 8 and we went out to an indian buffet. Butter chicken. Buffet. Need i say more! Im going to try and be good for dinner (ive beend doing well lately, with load of veggies and fruit as full meals) but damn. It was good. *laughs* Im also thinking about getting a digital scale also, partly for the leg work, partly cause im sick of re adjusting the little dial thingy to 0 every time i hop on, and wonderng if its right! lol! Soooo.. where do i go about finding one! 0_o Uh.. something tells me shoppers drugmart has a very limited selection of scales... and does anyone know what price range i could be looking at?
I hope everyone's doing well, and keeping their spirits up! Cheery bye for the mo!

Miggles 12-30-2005 07:47 PM

Okay well geez. I fell off the wagon alright. Ive encountered some problems with my stomach and have been to the doctor, and of course being sick and not knowing whats going on has be kinda stressed out - thus, more fooding. Ugh. Stupid comfort food. Why does it have to be so comforting! lol! Im afraid to hop on the scale after this week. Hopefully I'll know whats up in a week or two, but until then, maybe i'll take it easy... 5 out of 15 lbs ain't bad though is it? Perhaps a Back to School support group will pop up if im feeling up to it ;) Anyone interested? I go back to school on Jan 9th! Tootles for now!

fitgal2 01-01-2006 07:46 PM
