Just starting

Hi there. I am new here. I am a 27 year old mom of 3 beautiful little girls. I gained so much weight being pregnant, but knew we were trying again, I never did anything to take it off. Well, now our youngest is 4 months old, we are not having anymore children, and I am paying for taking off the last few years from diet and exercise.

I am very motivated to do this. I have already started portion control, working out, and counting calories. I would love to lose 40 to 50 pounds by June for a wedding I am in, but any amount I am down will do.

Anyone have any advice? What has worked for you and what hasn't? Any roadblocks?

Thanks!

Sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I'd love to hear anything that works for you and vice versa I will share with you what works for me.

Good luck!

Hey guys it sounds like you are both in the same boat that I was in a few months ago... I started at 220 and right now I am down to 180. The best advice that I can give is to REALLY take a look at what you normally eat... make a list a healthy foods that you enjoy and then start looking at ways to make those foods healthier. I know for me Tacos was one of my favorite dinners to make and now I make taco salad with either very little low fat ground beef or chiken and a huge salad with salsa as the dressing. They are really good and I don't even miss the shell. I also quit drinking anything except for water, not even diet cokes and exercising. IT WAS HARD for me to give up sweets...they have always been my weakness but I couldn't tell you the last time I even craved something sweet. I think sometimes it is getting over the first month that is the hardest and then when you slip up, don't get discouraged and start fresh the next day. I still have a long way to go and I encounter new obstacles every day but hopefully it will help you get started... Either of you feel free send me a private message if you want to talk.
