Default 50-year-old newbie

Hi, everyone. I'm a 50-year-old woman, not quite 5'3" and 220 lbs. I haven't weighed this much in decades. High chol, pre-diabetes, can't eat sugar substitutes. Crave sweets and to a lesser degree fats. Can't exercise right now (I did join Curves) due to being on crutches for the next six weeks or so. Looking into the South Beach Diet. Any advice would be appreciates. Thanks in advance.

Hey there!
Let's see... Iv'e tried every diet, diet pill, and lose weight quick scheme out there. They all work, if you stick to them. I have yet learned how to stay at a small weight. I am 37 and WAS 246, but then I got myself online and lost 9 lbs. I have probably gained and lost 100's of pounds, but this time I have help!! I'm sure you will find what your looking for here at 3FC. I know I did!!! There are lots of great people here to help you, and if I can help, just let me know!!
