Default another newbie :)

Hello. I am new here. looking to lose some weight but I am having a very hard time getting to that starting point! I am a SAHM with 3 children
9,4,& 4 months I live in NY, LI. looking forward to talking to people here.

How are you? I am also trying to lose about the same amount of weight as you. Maybe we can email and support each other?

Hey Jen,

I am doing WW-- Core right now. I did Flex for years (in between and after having my daughters), and started GAINING weight! After many, many doctors telling me I had to quit eating so much (which took a major toll on my self esteem), a doctor finally realized that I had insulin resistance. So, the dietary changes I needed to make fit in with Core (no sugar, white flour, etc...). Core has been a life saver for me.

What about you? How are you thinking about getting started? Have you tried things in the past? Do you exercise? Sounds like you're pretty busy with three little ones! It's hard to find time, I'm sure!

Hey..right now I know I have to lose weight ( I never been this big and it's really bugging me very bad) I am having a hard time getting started and I am pretty busy with my children so I find that when I am hungry I eat junk and eat big portions. I am trying now to eat healthier snacks and less portions, I can't join WW right now, its just too much with the kiddies and money right now( I have joined a few years ago and I liked it) so I am pretty much on my own here. I try to exercise, I have a treadmill and elliptical, and love taking walks outdoors. How about you do you exercise?

Hi Jen,

I have a treadmill that I hop on as often as I can. I'd really like to get to the point that it's a regular part of my day, but I'm just not there yet. If I ever get organized enough to get to bed early, I'll get up earlier and work out in the mornings, but I'm having a hard time with that right now. After I lose more weight, I will buy the Biggest Loser workouts. Do you watch the show? I was totally addicted to it!

WW is awesome! I love it! If you have the discipline, there's WW online. I know for me, I need the meetings and scale, but a lot of people are successful with the online membership. There are so many plans available out there, but basically they all have the same basic foods-- like WW's Core list, so I figure that that list must be a good one to follow.

I know what you mean-- I've only been this big since getting pregnant and LITERALLY eating for two. I hate it, it's drowned my self-esteem something awful. I can't wait to be thin, again! How long have you been holding on to your weight? For me it's been about 3 years... way too long. I had SOME extra weight after my first daughter, but I gained a ton more with my 2nd pregnancy and haven't gotten it off.
