New & Excited !!

  • Hello,

My name is Tonya and I am new here tonight.

I am 27 years old and my ultimate goal is to get back to my normal, healthy weight that I was about 6 years ago! So in a nutshell...I need to lose 45 unwanted pounds. I love my body for its stamina and strength! I have been working out and have found that I still have it in me and I can go for quite some time. I was a big runner in my youth and participated in track and cross country. After I graduated college.....I became lazy! Plain and simple....my laziness has provided me unwanted weight gain. Something I know I can shed !!

So....I have made a promise to myself to stop being lazy and make fitness a fun part of my life again. I made a promise to myself to lose the weight and to become healthy again! I made a promise to myself to feel young always!

How can it be so hard to be like I was 6 years ago? I am going to say that to myself everyday! It shouldn't be so hard because fitness was fun to me then and it can be now!!! No more laziness....A NEW FRAME OF MIND!!!

I can't wait to meet many of you! I hope to support you the best way I can and you can help support me as well.

  • I forgot to mention....

I have been training to run a marathon. My training started in August of this year. At this point in my training I am able to run a half-marathon. A couple weeks ago during one of my Sunday long runs....I injured my foot. At this point I will not be able to continue the hard training until my foot heals. I am a bit disappointed that I will not be able to participate in the marathon but once my foot heals, I can't wait to start the training once again and sign up for a new marathon! I ran a marathon when I was 19 and I want to run another one before I turn 30! I love running and it was a fun part of my youth. I am very surprised that I still have it in me.

So for now....I am just doing various workouts such as using the stairclimber and elliptical trainer at the gym for 45-60 minutes per workout. I am also starting to do more weight training. I joined my current gym a year ago but only used it 2....maybe 3 times a week. Once I started my marathon training in August....I was using the gym 5-6 times a week. I was just training too hard too fast. I just got too excited I guess. LOL! I haven't seen much of a change on the scale but my clothes do fit better.

I totally forgot to mention this info in my opening post!

  • Hello Tonya,
I am new to this site wanting to get back to my 125. I'm 37 and mom of 3 boys, not realizing through the years I let myself go.
Back in the day I broke the record for our school 100 yard dash...to move like that again without huffing would be nice.
I did go to the gym last year every other day and loved it, but this or that happened and once I missed a day, that was it I never went back, hopefully I will get the energy up to go back.
I look back to when I had all that energy and try to figure out what I was eatiang and doing then that made me thin...and realize I was very active and going places didn't mean jumping in the car and getting there. So I guess in a nut shell I got lazy also.
We made our first big step already,,,now it's time for all the little one's that will result in our weight loss victory!!!
