Hey everyone! New here.

I just wanted to stop in and say Hey. I am a 38 yr old mother of 2 girls, ages 20 and 17, and a " nonna " to a 15 month old baby girl.
I live in central PA, but have lived all over the Eastern half of the country. I am originally from Maryland. I currently work at an insurance company. My current husband and I have been together 11 years; he also is in insurance and financial planning.

My weight troubles started when after I had my first daughter. Of course, I was 17 at the time, so what did I know about weight? I started out 125 pounds dripping wet ( I am approx. 5'10" ) and thought I was huge. Then I gained 40 pounds. I was about 145 when I got pregnant with daughter # 2 and gained 40 pounds again.

When my first husband and I separated, I was around 150 or so. I still thought I was huge, but I now know that was normal for my height. Still, I was pretty much comfortable, was able to drop any pounds I gained, etc.

September 13, 2004, I quit smoking. It was also around that time that I started having some perimenopausal symptoms. So a combination of these things, and my own love of food and drink, and now I find myself at 212.5. And I am miserable. Last year, in anticipation of a trip to Aruba, I started an exercise program. I watched what I ate, went to the gym 6 days a week. This went on for 5 months. And I lost NOTHING. And while I FELT better, my clothes size remained the same also. And so since then, I haven't really done a lot of anything. It's hard to stay motivated when you don't get rewarded for hard work, you know?

So I'm trying again. My daughter's graduation is in June. I would like to be if not at goal, then pretty close.

Sorry this post was so long, but thanks for listening.
I look forward to chatting with everyone.
