40-something and a bit desperate
I gained 35 pounds following my divorce two and a half years ago. I'm now in a much better place emotionally and with life in general. I moved to a new state, took a new job, the kids are doing well...
I'm a newspaper editor and was using an old photo of myself to run with my column. Last week the layout chicks ran the recent one that was taken right after I moved here. I was SHOCKED to see the new photo of myself in the paper. I'm quite depressed about how bad I look. And it's going to be in the paper every freaking week. After several attempts in the last two years to lose, I am fearful this attempt with South Beach will just be another flop. I want it to work. Any advice? Help? Emily |
just take it one day at a time.. add in exercise and dont give up... even if ther scale doesnt budge ... stick to it..

Welcome Emily! I know you'll find the support & motivation you need here! If you ever need an extra kick in the butt to motivate you, let me know, I'm your girl :)

I don't know much about the S.B. diet, but there are a lot of boards here for people who follow it. A divorce, a major move and a job change are all huge stressors. I hope you have ways to relax and be nice to yourself during all these changes (massage? journaling?)
Best wishes on this journey. |
