New to the board
Hello all!
I am a 25 year old law student, engaged to be married in August of 2006. I gained 80 pounds 3 years ago when I was stuck in a miserable relationship and pretty unhappy. Well, things have changed for the better and now I am very happily engaged to a wonderful man. My goal is to lose the weight I gained during a rough time in my life so that my body reflects how happy and healthy I feel on my wedding day! I have 10 months to go. I started adopting a healthy lifestyle last year and through just generally trying to eat better and exercising daily I managed to lose 30 pounds. Now the crunch is on and I've become more strict with my diet. I want to lose 50 pounds before August 2006. Stats: 5"7 201 pounds Goal: 150 pounds by August 2006 Diet: I am following the general principles of the Zone diet, by balancing my carb intake with protein and fat. However, I have also eliminated all "bad" carbs like bread, pasta and starchy veggies. I also do not eat any food with additives, artificial sweeteners, flavours etc. Most of my meat and veggies are organic. I started this diet on September 12th, and have lost 13 pounds so far! 50 more to go to get to my target. Anyways, I am looking forward to sharing this experience with others who are trying to lose weight and get healthier, and I am happy to be a part of this community! |
Welcome Faith! I think you will love the board, there is a lot of support & motivation to go around ... you will definitely make your goal weight by August! Congrats on the 13 pounds lost so far! :)

Welcome Faith! :welcome3: Sounds like you're off to a great start. I also try to follow the percentages in the zone diet! Although I count calories instead of blocks.
