Anyone new to this need a buddy?

Hi. I tried to "thread" once before but my message wasn't very enticing as I had no responses. I'm a little more upbeat today and would still love a buddy to chat with about solutions for portion control, binging, stress eating, exercise tips. Anyone out there?

Hi. I just Registered

Hi. My name is Pam. I am new at this site. I have been a major diet since 9/29. I have lost 12 pounds. I have totally reduced my calorie intake. I hope you are doing well tonight.

Welcome, Pam

Thanks for replying. I am a mother of two boys, 16 years and 11 years. I am just getting started on this lifestyle approach to dieting. What exactly are you doing that is working so well for you? How much are you hoping to lose? Are you working out too? I just joined a health club (6 months free membership strictly for the treadmill for now - - just to move). I need to reduce calories as well, but exercise makes me hungry! Round and Round I go. Continued good luck to you.

Hi! I'm very new...as of yesterday. <G>

I'm 35, married with and 8yr old son. I work FT and sell Avon PT. I used to have a pretty active job (zookeeper) but had a car wreck in '98 that moved me to an office job. I've gained at least<?> 40lbs since then....I honestly haven't gotten on a scale in years. But I'm very frustrated because the whole family has gotten into a rut of eating very high fat....nachos, quesadillas...anything with lots of cheese and not a veggie to be seen! I also tend to skip breakfast and then go to Taco Bell or somewhere bad for lunch and pig out.

We have a Bowflex and an elliptical machine sitting in our living room (for about 5yrs now!) but rarely use either. It's easier to say there's no time by the time I get home from work, fix supper, do a few chores and help with homework etc.

I had to get some emergency toothwork done this week, and everytime they check my blood pressure, it's high. That scares me but I have this phobia about dentists and by the time I get in the chair, my heart is literally racing. So I'm not sure how much that has to do with it! I haven't had a check up in years and am afraid to go! (Maybe the $1000 deductible our insurance has now has something to do with it!)

So I really need someone to talk to and I've looked for weight loss forums on the web before and hadn't found any that I really liked, This one looks great!

So feel free to email me and I'll definately be around!

Hi, Rhonda, My BP goes up when I go to the Dr. too. And i'm an RN. I always have the other nurses at work check it and relay the pressure to the Dr. when he comes on the floor! It's that "White coat" syndrome! But, you should have you BP checked out other places to make sure it's jsut stress related and you're not really Hypertensive!

I'm sorry that your accident seems to have set you back. I understand how you are feeling. I need to lose around 50 lbs and would love to buddy our way through this. I also love this website because of all the support it offers. I've added you to my buddy list - reply when convenient.
