Hiya girls,
Good to see ya back TJ. It's nice to hear you had a great time visiting your son. Congrats on the 2 lb loss. Let's see if we can make it 3 next weigh in. :) The week is going well. I'm not sure if I'll show a loss or not but I'll be happy with atleast maintaining. Until I can get my head out of my you know what, I'm not going to make much progress. I'm feeling oh so stressed lately. I need just a day to figure things out. Thanks for the good wishes. I really appreciate it. I am hoping to get back to Iowa before the end of next month. The sooner the better for me I think. We're all going to be close together in a way when I move. You have Iowa, Illinois and Missouri all together. :) TJ: My brother lives in Stronghurst, Ill. Not sure how close that is to you. And Patti, I lived in Missouri for a couple of months. I lived in a little town, I think it was called Foristell. Didn't last long. Moved back to Iowa due to boyfriend didn't want me anymore> I don't think I was up to par with his friends. Though I did alot for him. Oh well, that's that past. I watched The Biggest Loser and The Amazing Race as well. I usually watch House on Fox but it was a rerun. Can you believe a rerun in the new season? How disheartening? Oh well, what can we do. I probably should have done some exercising then. Well, I suppose I should hit the bed soon. Talk to you all tomorrow. |
Good Morning All,
It's 3:30 AM and I am awake!!! Annie~ I hope you are feeling better about things. Sounds like you will be much happier when you get back to Iowa. I'm not sure where Stronghurst is but I am in the middle of the state, close to University of IL. I watched the Biggest Loser too. I'm usually not much for reality shows but my daughter said I should watch this one. It's good and I can't wait until next week to see what happens next. I also watch the Gilmore Girls. Well Patti~ So much for our CARDINALS! Maybe next year. I think taking a day off the do nothing is a must and much needed if you have 2 jobs. I had a very hard day at school yesterday. I guess thats why I am awake at this hour. The students had a ruff day too so at least it wasn't just me. There was a full moon the other night. If we are going to have trouble thats when it will be. We have open house tonight so it will be another long day. You girls have a good day. Stay active and eat healthy so that we can reach our goals together. Type at you soon. TJ |
Good Afternoon All.
TJ: Stronghurst I believe is close to the Iowa border. My brother works in Burlington, Ia. And I was rooting for the Cardinals to win too. So close. I hope everyone is having a good day. I am so happy. We finally got to go outside for a walk yesterday. It was a bit cool, but it was so nice get out in the fresh air. Emily was so excited. She just sang and talked the whole time. I think she was tired of being cooped up in the apartment. We didn't walk to far. Just down to the local drugstore walked around, bought a few things and came home. I even saw one of my friends there. It was a nice time. The sun is actually shining today too. Wow. I am going to have to take advantage of that and get out there again. I don't know how much longer this weather is going to last. I missed the first couple of shows last season of The Biggest Loser, but since I started watching I couldn't stop. I love that fact that they are helping them not only lose weight, but also showing them healthier ways to eating and alternatives to snacks, etc. I would love to go on there, but I don't have the self esteem to be on national TV for all to see my fat rolls. Kudos to those that go on there. I have alot of respect for them being able to do it. SO I've been doing so badly this week. About the only exercising I seem to be getting in is my jogging in place. I am up to 6 minutes now. I am totally slacking. I think it just has to do with the fact that I am bummed and I need to find work soon. There's just nothing around here. I am not sure what to do. I hope everyone is doing well this week. I try not to weigh every day but sometimes I can't help it so I weighed in this morning just to see where I was at and I haven't gained any so that is a good thing. I'll be happy to stay where I am. Well, I guess I am off to do somethings around the house and keep busy. Have a good day all. Annie |
Hi there, Congratulations on doing so well in pretty much a short amount of time. Would you mind posting your eating plan here so those of us who reallyneed it like myself can take a peek. I know that weightloss varies for different individuals, but your post inspires me to ask, and hopefully I can get positive results. The more ideas on how to lose this weight the better, it gives one more choices. Thanks for reading this and a response will be most welcomed.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I havent checked in. I have been having the TOM from h*ll. Menopause is no fun. I never know when my period is going to pop up or how bad it is going to be. Well it has been bad this time .... cramping, headache , leg aches, heaviness. It has felt like someone cut open my stomach, put in 3 or 4 bricks and sewed me back up. I feel better today and hope to get back into the swing of exercise. I lost 2 more lbs, which really surprised me. I didnt expect to lose during this time. But, I will take it and run. :) I hope everyone is doing well. I need to get of here and get some house work done . UGH! I will talk to you guys later. |
It's good to see ya back Pattie. Congrats on the 2 lb loss. :cheer: Way to go. So sorry to hear that you are having a rough TOM. I can't say I know how you feel because I don't. But boy can I imagine. I had a rough TOM this month. I usually feel good but I felt lower back pain the whole week. I almost wish I were back on the Depo shot. I didn't have to worry about a TOM when I was on it. I was in heaven. It was great.
I weighed in today. No loss this week for me, but I kinda expected that. I haven't done much exercising so I am happy with staying the same. Beats gaining back. I am really going to have to get my butt in gear and get some stuff done. I just don't want to get in the frame of mind that I'm not going to do it this time and just give up and start pigging out on junk food. I've done good because I have pretty much given up soda. I pretty much drink a diet soda if I really feel the need to have one. I can say that I don't miss having coke or mt dew at all. I like my diet sierra mist or diet A&W Root Beer. I am definitely drinking more water but still not enough. I am slowly working my way there. I think I should be having 80 oz a day. :?: I am up to about 60 or so. Not bad for a girl that would maybe have 24 to 30 oz a day. I have doubled it. I am trying to plan out my meals for this week. I need to get my butt to the store. :) Hello Spears-Of-Joy It's nice to see you join in on the conversation. You mentioned that you wanted to see a posting of our eating plans. Is that for any of us here? I will be glad to help you in anyway I can. Ok.. well I suppose I should go to do something productive. Have a great day all. |
Hi Everyone,
I am back to feeling well and exercising finally. Had to take my mom to dr. today, so had a bit of a drive and am anxious to get in some exercise. I have to go sell tickets at the theatre for a couple of hours and then I am freeeeeeeeeee. :) How is everyone doing? I am getting a little tired of the foods I am eating , so I am going to have to do a change in my diet routine to keep it interesting and tasty! Well, Geeze, I hate to check in after so long and not write much, But I have to run to work. Everybody take care & I will talk to you soon. |
It's good to see you back Patti. Glad to hear that you are feeling so much better. Well, I am shooting to just stay even this week. I haven't done well on eating at all and well exercising.. let's just say that it has been non-existent as of late. Just not been in the mood. So I am just hoping not to gain anything and I will be happy.
Just out of curiousity. What do you normally eat? I am trying to think what I could suggest to help liven things up a bit. I get stuck eating the same things too. I have been wanting to have some fish, but alas I am the only one that would eat it. It just seems pointless to get it. All I would hear is how fishy the house smelled. I've been looking to get some good ideas for soup. I love to have soup when the weather turns cold. And now that we have had some snow I am definitely in the mood for some soup. Just not sure what. I am shopping tomorrow. Hopefully, I will come up with something. Ok.. I should get going. Just wanted to say welcome back. Missed ya around here. Hope all is well with everyone. |
HI Annie,
Good to be back. I can relate to the "mood" thing. I have been kinda down today and am having to push myself to even think about exercise, but I am going to do my fitness program when I get in from work..NO EXCUSES for me. :) mmmmmm Fish sounds good. I love fish. . whether it is baked or grilled and of course, best of all fried..But that is a NO NO . :) I am in from work for lunch. I had my usual skinny cow ice cream - 140 calories. For breakfast I had some honey bunches of oats cereal 3/4 cup-170 and skim milk. I usually eat a grilled chicken salad for supper or a lean cuisine dinner. My snacks consist of wheat pretzels, or wheat thin chips , or triscuits. I need to eat some fruit. Yesterday I had two pineapple rings. I seem to be in a diet rut. If you have any ideas , please let me know. I need help finding something different . Take care and talk to you soon ! |
Got room for one more?
Hello-- it has been a while since I have posted. It has been a long year for me. I am 54 and was looking forward to my first 2 grandbabies unfortunately it was not to be as on my birthday we found out my daughter's baby had a tumor. My first grandson was born early in March and died 5 days later in surgery to remove his tumor. I have been in such a funk, it was all I could do to get up and go to work-- weight loss and exercise was more than I could deal with. Work has been really demanding. My second grandson was born in July and is a healthy boy-- he is terrific, but it is hard to realize there is only one here and the other in heaven. I keep standing in front the mirror looking at my saggy body. I haven't really gained or lost weight, but my muscle tone is gone. I quit going to my women's gym--- it just didn't feel right. I couldn't feel comfortable there and somehow I didn't feel at home or like they were giving me that extra they promised when I signed up. I have rejoined the neighborhood gym, but I haven't been able to make myself go. I need your help to get me back on the path of tightening up those muscles and reducing that fat. http://www.3fatchicks.com/weight-tra...6/140/200/.png |
HI TC and Welcome ,
OF course there is always room for more. We can use all the friends and support we can get. I am so so sorry to hear about your Grandchild. That is so very sad. I can not even imagine the pain you must be going through. What was his name? It is great that you have a healthy grandson to love and enjoy. I hope having him to love will help you work through your grief. I am not good at dieting when I am stressed at all. I certainly see why it was not a priority at the time. Now to get you back on track.....It is so hard to get started. IF you can just take it one day at a time. I work out at home w/ a fitness game and walk outside when the weather is good. Then sometimes I use my exercise bike. I find if I put on music that I love , I can work out easier. I hope you come back and chat w/ us often. Hang in there and take care of yourself. |
Patti- thanks for the suggestions and the support---- I will be coming back often. My grandson was Dominic James. He was a beautiful boy. My daughter and her husband have done a wonderful job of supporting each other. Life is just starting to be somewhat normal, so I look forward to getting to know you all better and moving down the path to health. I am off for a walk now as it is a sunny 60.

Hi TC,
Glad to see you back... and you're welcome. What a beautiful name, Dominic. I love that. It is so good that your daughter and her husband have each other for support. It is suppose to be a beautiful day here today , too. I will definately get out and walk. I lost 2 lbs this week, so I am very happy about that. I know I am going to reach a plateau because I have been losing steady the past few weeks. So, I am getting ready...I dont want to get frustrated. Today is my daughter's birthday and I am suppose to go to a dinner at her in-laws for her, but I sure dont want to. They are having fried chicked and the fixins. I dont know if I could handle that. My daughter understands, so I might just skip it. She will be coming to my house afterwards, so I will still get to be with her. Guess I will get some breakfast & the boring house chores done. Talk to you later and have a great day! |
Hi Patty and TC,
How are things going? Well, I am still maintaining. Haven't seen a loss in 2 weeks, but I am telling myself that it is ok. We all those weeks, but I am just happy to not gain any back. I have slacked the last week so I am starting anew and I have an exercise plan for the week. I am hoping to stick with it. Things are stressful but I am controlling the urge to buy a big bag of chocolate and devour the whole thing in one sitting. I felt like that on Friday. I went out for a walk to get some fresh air and boy the chocolate halloween candy looked so good, but resisted. I want to treat myself to candy sometimes but not the whole darn bag. Congrats on the loss Patti. Way to go. You are getting so close to your Christmas goal. I am hoping to pull a good number soon. Or I think my goal is going to have to be changed to just losing 13 pounds. Enough to get me to Onederland. TC.. so sorry to hear about your grandson. I hope you find the support you need here to lose the weight. GOod luck. Happy Halloween. |
Okay, How did everyone make it through Halloween? Did ya have to be around candy? I bought for my Grandsons and those mini candy bars just kept haunting me. I kept thinking...they are so small, cant have many calories, just one wouldnt hurt. But I didnt eat one, cuz I know I would have eaten the whole bag if I had.
Annie, You are doing great to maintain. I know I am going to hit a stand still soon. I have been through a couple of plateaus and take a couple of weeks to get a loss again. I just wanna get the 10 more lbs off sooooooo bad I can see it. I want to stay strict until Thanksgiving Day and then eat kinda what I want that day and then back to it till Christmas. Christmas is getting so close now....about 7 weeks I think. So, I need to lose a little over a lb a week to get to my goal. I am on my lunch break, so i better get back to work. Talk to everyone later ! ! ! :) |
I did great through Halloween. We don't take the DH trick or treating for a few reasons.
1) She doesn't eat candy except Gummi Bears. And I don't want to be stuck with the candy. DH doesn't eat it. He has sensitive teeth. 2) Maybe it's just me but I don't feel it's all that safe anymore. I would rather she go to a party and be safe there. 3) I don't really care for my neighbor. I just feel safer if she just stayed inside and mommy can give her all the gummi bears that she wants. :) So needless to say living in an apartment house on 3rd floor, we don't really get any kids coming. Never have. So I don't have to worry about even buying it to have in the house. I did have some candy but it was 2 pieces of Junior Mints. 16 pieces = 170 calories. So I had about 22 calories. I would say that wasn't too bad. I get some chocolate but it really satisfies me. I am very proud of myself for having some self control. Yes, if I would have had Reese's Cups I would have eaten the whole bag. They are my favorite. Yummy. :T Trust me, Patti. I am so happy to be maintaining. But still wish I was losing something. Guess when you get stuck you just feel like you are a failure. I just don't understand why. I am really wondering if I am going to make my Christmas goal. I am thinking about changing it to like 15 lbs or something like that. Maybe reaching Onederland should be my goal. Then I won't be disappointed if I fail. I am just happy to be closer to 199 then I have in a long time. I agree about being strict up until Thanksgiving. I think that is a day to splurge some but still maintain some control. And then strict til Christmas. If I am in Iowa for Christmas, I am going to probably pig out. I haven't been there in 5 years. But I will try to be somewhat strong. I don't want to blow my losses too much. Yup, Christmas is 53 days away. So basically 7 weeks and a couple days. Wow.. Makes me realize that I need to get in gear if I am going to get 11 pounds off. We can do it. :cheer: Have a great night Miss Patti. |
Moving us back up
It looks like we are all still busy. I am having a hard time rearranging my schedule to allow for DST darkness. I have a neighbor who walks with me before dinner, but the days seem to be getting away from me. This weekend, I will be getting out walking-- we are having sunny but cool weather this weekend. My DH got a cholestol check 234, so we are going back to eating good food for his sake too. Let's here from you all.
